Had to dig a trench in dried clay and rocky soil, used the wider chisel to cut in and then shoveled the loose dirt out, down to 2-3 feet. Worked perfect and was well worth the purchase price. Sturdy, well designed tool. Review: Dam Ice (Breaker) - I can't believe we haven't had this before. We have a garage with large equipment that has to pull up and idle. The problem is that the exhaust melts the snow and creates a lake because it's in the same area, and it's relatively flat. So we have to break the ice dam and this thing is outstanding. If you let it do the work it does not tear things up, works twice as fast, and probably will keep a work comp claim from coming our way because someone isn't breaking their back with a shovel.
