The purifier looks exactly as described. It is completely silent and very easy to clean. I like the guard option which is useful when young children visit. I am not able to judge the effectiveness of the purifier except to note that a fine film does collect after about two weeks use.

I am pleased with the item, as it also uses very little power (7 watts) less than a very low powered saver light bulb, and does it`s job. The only bugbear is it does not collect much house dust, but does a very good job of collecting micro-particles that damage lungs, like in Diesel engine smoke. With a ten year guarantee it comes with, and well packaged on delivery, I am seriously thinking of buying another for my bedroom, as I suffer from Athsma, and I definately need a bedroom one. I would recommend buying one to see if you like the performance and saving costs. No maintenance on this machine, except cleaning the collector tube which is easy.

To early to tell since we bought it. One of us feels better while the other can't tell any difference yet. The manufacturer was good enough to send us a UK adaptor as it came with a 2 pin one.

As soon as I received this product and turned it on it made a great difference to the air in the living room. Cooking smell gone, the air feels cleaner and less dust. I haven't had the product for long, but it is already making a big difference. The product makes a very low hissing noise and it is very easy to set up. The look of the product is great goes well with any home Deco.

The product comes efficiently packaged and there is some assembly as you pop a few dozen plastic slats into two rings, making the top cylinder. This was fairly simple and easy, but note that you should not expect to later disassemble it and put it back in the original box. I think doing so would cause too much stress on the plastic. The product is stylish looking and has an optional blue lcd if you'd like a little lighting effect, or you can keep the device working while turning the mood light off. The device works by collecting particulate matter onto an electrically charged metal cylinder. In my home I can clearly see it working because after a week of operation, I can see the buildup of dirt on the metal cylinder. It's very easy to clean too: turn off the device, lift off the metal cylinder, and give it a good wash. Also the device is silent except for the occasional, very faint popping sound of a small static charge. I would say it's 99% silent and that the little noise I mention is not unpleasant.I did a bit of web research before buying this item and had developed the impression that it would be effective in cleaning the air in a smoker home. While I see it "working" because it gets visibly dirty, it does not stand up to the smell of smoke inside the home. Even if there's no smoking for a week, and the product is running, there will still be smoke smell. Therefore, I would say the product is not potent enough for my needs. I do not have any comment on how it fares with allergens for people who have allergy problems.

I habitually wake up with a congested nose. When we were by the sea in Croatia for a week it was much better and my wife said I snored less too. So I did a lot of research on air purifiers of various sorts. This one is expensive but is rated for very large rooms, draws under 10W and has no other running costs. By contrast the filter types need far more power (to force air through the filter) and many require you to buy expensive filters every few months. Another I came across passed air through a tiny furnace - apart from high power requirements its instructions suggested it works very slowly and hardly at all when you open the window.So I went with the IonFlow Surface. It was easy to assemble and I didn't bother with the plastic guard which stops you getting a little static shock if you touch the collector cylinder. It's pretty much silent in operaration (just slight popping noises from the collector) and my nose does seem clearer. We've got it on a table in a far corner of a large bedroom and it hasn't dirtied nearby walls at all after several months and I only have to wash the collector occasionally. But I can definitely tell when it's on (that seaside bite to the air) so I'm a fan. But it is very expensive.

Totally amazing product been using it for years.Their support and service is outstanding. Getting spare part when cat flipped it over and also order matters.

We have a pipe smoker in our family, and i bought this to clear the fog in the room when he was around.It carries out that function extremely efficiently, and neutralizes the smell too.Since the device is pumping out ions at a very high rate, i thought personally that it took my body a couple of days to get used to the high energy content in the air.The room appears from a visual perspective to be less dusty.The assembly is simplicity itself and you can see that a lot of thought has been put into making the product both visually attractive and user friendly.I would definitely recommend this to a friend.Updating this review, it has to be said that the switch or transformer is now faulty, as there is no power supply to the unit, disapointing to say the least
