FOCAL XS BOOK (PAIR PRICE) Multimedia Multimedia speakers

These speakers are simply astonishing for their price and size. The sound is clear, natural, detailed and tonally accurate. They can be played fairly loud without the sound hardening and also provide a vivid soundstage. I am an audiophile (with a reasonably high-end system) and when I play classical music flac files through the Arcam rPAc the sound is of audiophile quality without much compromise. I would recommend more specialized cables (for example, Van den Hul) though for audiophiles. The speakers look elegant and stylish too.The service of Nintronics is truly excellent. The speakers arrived the next day and the people I spoke to at Nintronics were both passionate and knowledgeable about audio. Focal the manufacturer and the company that sells them Nintronics deserve to be congratulated.Addendum: I don't hear the so called white noise that the reviewer on Amazon.com is talking about. I have no reservations about these speakers and recommend their purchase wholeheartedly.

Great sound quality. However the volume regulator stoped to work and there is no warranty service. It is why only 3 stars

These have style as well as providing high quality sound. They are quite big but most people won't find that a problem and it enables them to produce a rich full sound. These go very loud if you want them to party, but don't lose their composure. Great imaging too. The only thing that I would mention is that they sound pretty dire when you first connect. Thinking that you have made a mistake you just need to play them for a while (the louder the better) and the sound opens and richens up, so don't be put off; it's well worth the wait!

i have a high end hifi system in my living room and wanted hifi quality speakers for my pc and i am not disappointed. r they as good as my expensive high end living room system? no, but for the price they r really very good. now i can listen to my downloaded music without hooking everything up in the living room. i am using the focals via an arcam rpac so have bypassed the pcs soundcard which lets the focals shine.

I cant praise those speakers enough. I'm a speaker freak and those are just so good for the PC or TV or small Living room - a subwoofer is a good addition but not necessary! Only gripe is the volume does gradually get lower and lower when on standby - needs upping a little every day.

Bought as a 2.0 Flat screen speaker system to accompany a 46in Sony HX903. Narrow shape which expands slightly in the midline to accomodate the 4in bass unit. Being active it will take signal from the headphone output of the TV and can then be controlld by the TV remote; set up the speaker volume at the level you want from the TV volume setup and their control becomes transparent. Heavy speakers for the size with reassuring quality of construction but small footprint and sit nicely each side of the PVR underneath the TV. Sound is reasonably neutral with a decent Bass output, where present, without being boomy, a true monitor quality speaker for the price. An excellent, good quality 2.0 solution with minimal footprint and great sound. Well worth the £300 they cost.
