Yes, you can get cheaper 512gb USB drives - but, IMHO, none are better value than this one:-(A). It's rather quick - on both USB A and C interfaces (assuming your PC supports USB Gen 3.2). CrystalDiskMark shows sequential reads and writes at up to ~500 mbps.(B). It's very well built with both end ports protected when not in use.(C). It's very convenient with both USB A and C interfaces. ie. It can be connected to a PC/laptop, a tablet or a mobile. That's great for data transfers.(D). It comes with a leatherette sheath for added protection and to facilitate attachment to a keyring or belt loop.It doesn't get too hot. I did a 300gb file transfer and, whilst the device got quite warm, the temperature never exceeded 50 degC (according to CrystalDiskInfo). That's reasonable and no need for concern.Although the device arrives already formatted (FAT32), I had to "initialise" it on my PC and assign a drive letter - using "Disk Management" in "Settings". This is normal with a new drive on Windows.For what you get, this device is very competitively priced. Same day delivery was also appreciated.As I said, I am rather chuffed 😀 😊

Why did you choose this product over others?:Chose this flash drive over others I've looked at ,because it's the right price,seems to be rugged for everyday use and carrying around. Data transfer is very good for what I nee.

Purchased 3 of these drives. 1x 512 & 2x 256's. All drives work well with my current system, will be building a new one hopefully very soon. I purchase all my favourite box sets, be it DVD or Blu-Ray, I then rip and tranfer them to flash drive. My previous set of flash drives are getting on a bit so I decided to give these a shot, and I'm glad I did... they are great.To 'Drumming Dan' who is having problems with the drive. Don't give up on the drives, they are good, soldly built devices. I actually had problems with the 512 drive as it was only showing 32GB on its storage. I added several files played then formatted it, still the same. I took it and placed it into my S4 tablet, itstalled a small app called CX Explorer to check the drives capacity thru it. Right away it burst into life displaying 512GB.Place it back into my PC and all was as it should be, it was showing the full 512GB.When I rip my CDs I rip to 192/48, Higher is not required as 192 is CD Qualty.Ripping my DVDs, they are ripped to 265 (8-bit) Blu-Ray (10-bit).Make sure that your TV is fully updated, and when removing the Flash drive from your computer make sure you use the "safely remove hardware" or you will/ may corrupt the files.Hop this helps.

Brilliant performing USB, but the design is a little flawed. While the little case is a nice idea, it would have been better to incorporate the keyring into a fixed USB A cover. The first thing you're going to loose is the cap for the main usb as it's not attached to anything, unlike the USB C flip cover. I'd have given it 5 stars otherwise. Read and write speed for files are excellent and it's a great price too for the 256gb I purchased! [I use it for Rekordbox playlist exports which used to take an age, but are now taking just a few minute for large playlists of around 10gb].

Absolute game changer for me. Had approx 6k photos and videos on my samsung phone so running out of space, they didn't touch the sides of this thing, easy to transfer and demount. Feels great quality with its alloy body and easy flip type C guard. Als9 comes with a small carry pouch with ring to attach to keys. Very happy.

Awesome a sad in a sub stick and dual ended perfect

Good value for money. Took 1 star off because the stick being made of metal gets very warm/hot when used in the usb port on my Sony tv.
