The Long Walk: An Anthology by EOD & Search Veterans, 2023: 1 (The Long Walk Anthologies)

In equal measures this book is hilarious, moving, inspirational, honest. My personal favourites are recollections by 'Tenks' The worst No/2 in the World and the late Justin "Troll" Bells The first task.I split my sides laughing at some of these stories with the dead pan, dry military humour that only IED/EOD operators can have facing these devices day in and day out.Their bravery comes through each account but isn't 'In your face, we know what we are doing is dangerous'. It is matter of fact and professional (well, some of it). Loved every submission in this book for different reasons. You'd be nuts not to buy it!

A great book, giving excellent insights of the work of bomb disposal and of the role of the Felix Fund charity. Brilliant!

It’s always good to read stories as told by the people who actually experienced the incident. Looking forward to the next instalment.

just got it today, good reading and am up to john maddocks chapter.some of the book brings back memories .all good memories.

… but not just tales of derring-do; theres a good mix of the light-hearted, plenty of “squaddie humour”, and some good old fashioned British self-deprecation.A great insight into the U.K. EOD community.
