Minnetonka Women's Thunderbird Softsole Moccasin

I’m 73 years old and have worn Minnatonka white Thunderbird moccasins since I was a teenager. Only about 10-15 days a year am I not wearing Minnatonka moccasins. The quality & durability can’t be topped.To indicate how much I think of your moccasins, 47 1/2 years ago I took a pair apart and used it as a pattern for a white satin pair of moccasins with gold Thunderbirds - I wore them on my wedding day.

I normally wear a 6 1/2 or 7. I ordered 7 in white smooth. It was delivered 3 days late and then was way too long and wide. I had 1/2-3/4" behind my heel in length, so I returned. Then, I read reviews saying they ran large. I then ordered a 6 in natural smooth and could hardly squeeze my foot in it, so I returned. By this time I was in a time crunch for when I needed so I ordered both 6 1/2 and another 7 in natural smooth. The 6 1/2 was a little tight lengthwise and fine width wise. The 7 was the same length as the 6 1/2 but was wide. I knew they would soften up and stretch some so I kept the 6 1/2 and returned the 7. I have worn them the last 3 days and pleased with the shoe. Quality made, they just need to get their sizing under control. I have reduced 1 star for sizing issues.

Why Minnetonka softsole are the best, in my opinion:1. The leather softsole is just the right amount of protection on hard floors, furniture corners*, and whatever else you may step in/ on. I wear mine around the house, not on hikes around thorny stuff.2. They're washable. I put mine in a lingerie bag for washing and let air dry. Stain remover can work on the footbed liner if you care about that.3. The beadwork adds a nice finished touch.4. I find these laces stay tied rather well. My experience of leather laces on another pair of Minnetonka softsole moccasins took some effort for me to tame when new.*Furniture corners still hurt but these moccasins help soften the blow 🤷‍♀️ lol ✌P.s. Minnetonka has faux fur liners you can buy separately. These add cushion, a fresh look, and make the slipper fit a little more snug if needed.

I loooove these! They do run big though. I am a 9.5, sometimes 10. I originally ordered a 9 based on others reviews, but they were too big. I could fit 2 fingers behind my heel and they were slipping off. I will say, that I wanted them to fit snugly because I knew they would break in and stretch out and I wanted them to conform to my feet. I returned them and ordered the 8s instead. The first time I wore them they felt perfect. The second time I wore them (out of the house, for more than 30 minutes) they gave me blisters on my second to last toes. I could have avoided that by prepping with bandaids,knowing they had to break in. The third time I wore them, they were all nice and soft and we've been in love ever since. I'll have and wear and treasure these for years, or until they get holes in the bottoms.

Minnetonka Women's Thunderbird Softsole moccasins are NOT 100% leather as the Amazon description stated. The insole is a foam pad glued in. It does not appear to be able to remove the insole without damaging it. That a problem due to the purpose these shoes were bought is to practice earthing-- walking in shoes that allow connection with the natural electrical charge of the earth.The leather also feels very thin that leads me to believe that it is not durable. I need average width. This seems wide as they flop on my feet.Customer service has been zero help. I've called 3 time. There is no option to hold. The accent of the CSR was so strong that I couldn't understand the message or call back number on my voicemail. Maybe if we made contact, the rep would low down and enunciate well enough to be understood! Why not provide the correct number on the product return instructions?This product is Made in the Dominican Republic. Maybe customer service is there too?After my last call, major repair projects started in home, so I was not able to keep repeatedly calling their voicemail. If I don't get help in processing this return, I may need to go through my cc company.

I am so impressed! I have really bad arthritic knees and heard that going barefoot is the best way to get relief. I was going to buy the fugly looking shoes with the toes in them. Luckily I saw that my sister bought a pair of Minnetonkas. They are the ankle boots. She told me they are really comfortable and people who do "earthing" swear by them. Earthing? You can look it up but basically you are allowing more of the earth's magnetic field into your body through your feet. All I know is that yesterday I wore these shoes out to go shopping and my knees did not hurt. Sure, I'm stiff but I did not have the usual stabbing horrible pain I get when I go out in tennis shoes. I thought for sure this morning I would be crippled but no. My knees and legs were stiff but no pain. I usually wake up in the middle of the knight with shooting stabbing pains in my knees but not last night. I'm ordering more of these shoes. They are amazing!

This is my second pair of the same style of Minnetonka's. I lost the first pair. I really like their comfort level (even though I bought my size and they are snug and can't wear them with socks). With my initial pair, I wore them several times and they fit SO comfortably...like a glove. I enjoy wearing them around the house as a slipper but mostly bought them to wear outside in the yard. I feel so good wearing them outdoors on the grass and sand. They don't have a thick soul whatsoever, so if you're looking to ground or just have a comfy pair of shoes these are the ones for you. I suggest double checking the sizing chart. Go half a size bigger if you can. The souls aren't conducive to wearing/treading on coarse grounds (rocks, concrete). They'll wear out quickly!

Aufgrund meiner Behinderung kann ich nicht ohne Schiene in normalen Hausschuhen mit festerer Sohle laufen. Ich hatte mir die Mokassins immer in den USA gekauft, als ich noch reisen konnte. Dann hier in Deutschland viele Jahre vergeblich gesucht. Bin heilfroh, jetzt welche gefunden zu haben. Aus unerfindlichen Gründen sind sie mir aber ein wenig zu groß - die nächst kleinere Größe zu klein! - Da muss etwas geändert worden sein, weil ich mir genau die Größe bestellt habe, die ich in den USA. immer gekauft habe. Aber egal, ich trage halt etwas dickere Socken darin.Ich hoffe nur, dass ich sie mir weiterhin auf amazon kaufen kann.

I wear them as slippers and regret not buying them sooner. They are comfortable and ideal for wearing indoors; scuff free, stactic shock free and they keep your feet moderately tempered (not too hot and not too cold). Beware of the width as they will stretch. If you have narrow feet, you may not enjoy these. Definitely a great purchase, in my opinion.

I love my moccasins. I read previous posts, so bought a smaller size than I would have otherwise. Yes, they did indeed stretch -- and very quickly. I didn't like the insole; seemed to lose the authenticity of a moccasin. I removed the insole and replaced them with a shearling insole and now they are perfect. In the spring I'll buy a pair to wear outside.

The size fits the foot perfectly as described and also have a little space left. It is quite comfortable to walk around with.
