Best of Barbara Mandrell
This compilation of Barbara's "Best of" has most of her better known hits. The version of "I Was Country when Country Wasn't Cool" is the one with George Jones coming in, and her version of "Wish You Were Here" is one of my all time favorites. While I enjoyed the songs, this is apparently a CD that was originally released in the UK, according to the credits. I mention that because the "sound" quality, while okay, is not what I have heard on many of the US released CD's to which I'm accustomed. The sheet liner is somewhat dated as well. It provides a biographic summary of Barbara's career but ends saying she was still touring, working the country circuit, and also in "cabaret." Barbara retired a number of years ago so it's obviously an older release. But I'm still glad I bought it and if you're a Barbara Mandrell fan, and if you can get it at a good price, buy it.

I miss Barbara Mandrell
Love this Barbara Mandrell CD. I got it real cheap too. I miss Barbara making records & singing. She was a wonderful talent. This CD has 23 of her hits. I liked every song on it. Worth buying to add to your CD collection.

Love Barbara and this CD
I love this CD. Barbara Mandrell was so big in the 70's and 80's. I will always have a soft spot for her music! This album is great! It has almost all of her hits! You won't go wrong with this one!

She was country, when country wasn't cool
I never was that much into country, but I like listening to it when driving - and that's how I found this lady. I bought it knowing just two songs (I was Country and Sleeping Single...), later discovered that I know I Loving You Is Wrong... from radio as well. These are still my favourite ones (plus Crackers :-)) but the rest is solid good pop/rock/soft country (not really a fan of country standards - and these are not here). Beautiful music, beautiful voice, this simply strokes my heart every time I put it on.

Barbara who?
Some people may ask why that heading for Barbara Mandrell was and still is a major star in the USA. Many years ago she had a hit TV show in the UK which I enjoyed very much at the time and this CD brings back many memories of that time. She has a marvellous voice and for anyone who like the female country sound this CD is perfect. Many hit singles make this a comprehensive collection of her best work.
