These chainmail voiders are crafted from dome-riveted flat rings of mild steel. The rings are blackened for a finish and they measure 6 mm in diameter and 18 gauge in thickness. These voiders can be stitched onto a gambeson to add panels of protective chainmail to the armpit and sides - areas that may not be well covered, particularly if plate armor is worn over the gambeson.
