Lost Cat

Adorable illustrations and themed around a cat's eye view, Lost Cat is nominated for the Nevada Young Readers Picture Book Award for 2016. As an elementary librarian in Nevada, I read this book to nearly 700 students aged 5-11. They all loved it!Slipper the cat gets left behind in a move and begins a search to find the perfect person to adopt. Potential owners are identified by their shoes (muddy boots, high tops, shiny shoes), which is how Slipper sees them. A surprise and happy ending, this is a sweet story for all ages.

Lost Cat is my favorite children's book. I have purchased numerous copies for baby shower, birthday and Christmas gifts. I have also recommended the book to friends with small children and grandchildren. I even have an autographed copy of my own! It is a heart-warming story with the most beautiful illustrations. It is unusual for the same person to both write and illustrate a children's book. Roger Mader's work is amazing, I can't wait to read his next book!

The girls checked this book out several times from the library. We finally bought our own copy.

Having been involved in animal rescue all of my life, I found this book particularly heart warming. The pastel illustrations gave the book an over all softness and richness and who wouldn't be transported in love when looking into the eyes of this cat. This book may be meant for children, but it takes an adult to get the depth of it's meaning and appreciate the artistry of the author/illustrator.

My children love this book, we have only had it since christmas and they love helping tell the story of the little cat looking at shoes at least once every day. The drawings are beautiful and keep both my 2 and 3 year old engaged.

all of you cat lovers should buy this book. I have given it to all of my neices, nephews and friends kids. It's a charming story and the illustrations are fantastic.

This book stars a cat names Slipper. We ordered this book after falling in love with Slipper in her other book which was an adventure where she climbed into Santa's bag and went delivering gifts with him.In this book Slipper gets lost, but it has a happy ending.The artwork is what attracted me to these books initially. Very bold and graphic and all images completely create a mood specific to the story line.

Gorgeous illustrations and a story that will keep the little ones in suspense until the happy ending and then an even happier final twist.

From that lingering look at us on the cover (no cat lover could walk past that coverwithout picking up the book!) to the end of the story the illustrations capture both adult and children.It's a lovely book to share with the kids - and it's beautifully done.

This heart-warming story and lovely illustrations will please all children and cat-lovers of any age. It makes a great Christmas present!
