Totokan Monitor- Travel, Cordless and Portable Capability, with OR Without WiFi, Complete Night Vision, Indoor or Outdoors

We’re new parents and did a ton of research online before buying this monitor. We finally went with this monitor after watching the baby guy do a review online. The night vision and wifi option was what sold us on it. We take baby to my parents house quite a bit, its an easy set up for nap times etc. when it can connect directly to our phone without wifi. This without wifi mode is actually called “Out & About”. The monitor has its own wifi signal that you can sync directly to so you don’t have to worry about syncing it to a strangers router or hotel wifi network which usually wont allow these types of connections anyway. If you are with in a room or two away the monitor will be fine, just like wifi the connection starts to get shaky if you start to be too far away, most times this has worked for us as we are just next door, but if you need a better connection you need to sync the monitor to a good wifi environment.I see us using this in the future for trips. it really is cordless unlike some other monitors who market themselves as portable. The way that it is designed and ruggedized is a bonus as we have a dog that knocks things over all the time.

I see this as more of a toddler monitor or something you use when there are multiple kids in the house if you have a new born know that the app needs to be on the whole time to hear or see your baby. This is easier if you have a old iPad around dedicated to it. I use it on my bigger kids to monitor them playing during the day. PROS. Easy set up, no noticeable lag which won bonus points, fun talk back feature, and I thought the view was pretty wide and easy to zoom in by finger pinching just like zooming in on picture on an iphone. My kids love the talk back- it’s almost a game now. It's like moms voice through it is my alter ego- STOP FIGHTING! I like that it unplugs because I can move it around the house when I need to work and the kids are all over. The connection was a pretty easy setup and it synced to my wifi no problem (we also have tried the nest and it had a more complicated set up process). I noticed this does not charge monthly fee which won bonus points for me.

I bought this monitor because my best friend recommeneded them after being their brand ambassador for 3 months. She mentioned it was an awesome and very responsive team who emphasizes on security. So far so good, connecting and setup done without too much trouble. We were able to setup this monitor with our home wifi with no big issues.Likes-My husband and I really enjoy the night vision and being able to zoom in on our son.-Small enough to take with you-Move around the house- this i loved.dislikes-set up was not as smooth, slight hick up on the passwords, but we got it going fine.-unplugged it lasts for about 4 hours. wish it were longer. As I forgot to plug it back in.-picture and video quality is ok

Do not buy this camera. Both my sister and I purchased it for both our babies and it hasn't worked since day two. The app can never find/connect to Totokan's Wifi network (a necessary component in order for the camera to operate), which in turn, means that no network = no available camera. The first time I had to contact their customer service was because the camera's charging piece had completely fallen into the monitor. It took about two weeks for them to send a replacement. Thinking the replacement camera would work better, it most definitely did not. I have contacted their customer service numerous times about the connection problem AND to try and get reimbursed for the product, only to be emailed back with multiple excuses, empty promises, or unanswered concerns.

I took this on vacation with my family to go camping this week and left it in the kids tent at bed time. This was a great set up for us out doors.Pros:-no need to plug in-really good night vision-easy set up in the outside modeCons:-need to have app on to hear and see, though it would be fine to use an old iPhone for this purpose.-unplugged it’s about 4-5 hours of battery life.It is built quite rugged, I took a shot of the kids playing outdoors too under the sun. The picture quality adjusted to the outdoors after rebooting it. Great travel companion.

I liked the fact that it connects to my phone without dealing with hotel wifi. Easy to setup. Saw some reviews about connection but i had a good one. Its like wifi, the further you are from it then it starts to lag or freeze. I was connecting right outside our room when my kids were sleeping- totally fine. Good video quality especially in black and white night mode.

Saw it in action at a buddy’s house (rather than have the adults take turns walking over to the backyard or the living room where our TV/X-Box is) and picked it up recently myself.It’s pretty dense and has some heft to it which automatically made me go into “Daddy” mode and tell them not to throw it at each other. It’s a bit bright with the disco orange but overall it does what it advertises. Super helpful when the kids are glued to the TV watching cartoons and I’m doing some work a room away. Just pop it over and make sure everything’s ok.Wouldn’t mind if they added other features such as motion detection or facial recognition but not a deal killer.

I wouldn’t recommend this product. It was difficult and somewhat confusing to set up and when we finally did get it set up, it would only work temporarily. After it disconnected, to reconnect you’d have to start the set up all over. I am returning this product b
