Ideal for urban birds.
Urban birds love suet, seemingly better than bird seeds. This ten pack is ideal to feed the birds; each individually wrapped for protection, fits perfectly into the metal bird feeder, the price is right and the sparrows love it as the nosey squirrel can’t get to it.

Great Item - Attracts a Variety of Birds
I was very surprised at the variety of birds this attracts. Its early April here in the Northeast and the birds in this area definitely love it. Woodpeckers - Downy, Red Bellied and Hairy - visit it multiple times during the day. Northern Mockingbirds and Cardinals as well. (see the attached pictures). Have also seen Song Sparrows, Chickadees, Dark-eyed Juncos and Carolina Wrens visit the feeder. Good price for a product our feathered friends enjoy. The only downside is it is a little oily-waxy to handle. Wear disposable rubber gloves when you handle the suet cakes.

The birds love the high energy suet!
I noticed I was getting short on bird suet one day I ordered a box and it was delivered the very next day. The birds really enjoy it.

NO FANCY PACKAGING
I've been buying items such as these from a local store, ... these were a bit more expensive but I ran out. My usuals are on sale for 8.00 for 8 items, usual price is 9.99. Found these, though a bit more penny wise per piece, I received 10 for a decent price all considering. The squirrels and starlings have having a field day on anything I've put out over my 3 cake feeders. Where I had the woodpeckers (Downies) before, even after a two day loss of feeder, they haven't been back. The starlings, sparrows, a few nut hatches have been at these, but few woodpeckers that were always here. Granted, it's early March, but something is missing, and I think it's the 'suet'. These cakes are very heavily seeded, ... with just enough suet to keep the seeds within it's cake. Woodpeckers are not great seed eaters, might be the reason they've been reluctant to hit these cakes. It'll be a bit before I'm sure, ... but at the present time, these cakes are better for birds that scrape by on finding foods. If one wants food, suet for 4 or so woodpeckers, ... I'd suggest something with a heavier suet content. I'll still use these cakes, ... but I'll definitely make sure I get to the store that carries my old brand that has a higher suet content than these under review. BTW: The 'woodpecker dough' is equally worth this review, as they aren't receptive to that product either. Sometimes the old used product is better than a change, regardless of the reason.

Birds won’t eat
So far the birds won’t eat them. They prefer the other kind I have. These might be a total waste of money.

It lasts longer than other brands.
I used this produce to feed the blue jays and woodpeckers. I find it lasts longer.

It a good product but much too expensive.
It’s no easy to find really good suet blocks that don’t fall apart in your hands. This product is better , but the price is ridiculous. Someone needs to make decent blocks at a more reasonable price.
