We bought the huge 96x96 one to block our front, south-facing window when we watch TV. The glare used to be overwhelming.Physical installation was easy. But beware - we received a v2 version with v1 instructions. So the instructions for the control box had a picture of something that didn't exist. Instead, we had a long control wand. The brackets give you several mounting options and 'slides' for the screws so you can fine tune it if you pay attention to how you install it.There are 2 versions of the LinkShade and we got a v2 but with printed v1 instructions, which was a bit weird and not-obvious. If you get one with a long white control rod with bulbous end, you have a v2. In either case, go to the LinkShades website and get the correct instruction book. They have videos too.Setting up the start/stop positions took a few tries but once set, works consistently. Creating an account and connecting the LinkShade to Alexa was a breeze.As for the sun-blocking aspect, it is a serious material. For some reason the product pics made it look sort of mesh-like, but it's definitely solid and thick enough to block all light. This is going to make a big difference in the summer when the full sun comes through that window. And it has already improved our TV watching.

After having the LinkShade for close to 2 months I was ready to review them. Wow - We love them!! We purchased the 72" wide shade and they were relatively easy to install. We wanted them out of sight when fully open and the only issue was that we already had a curtain rod for the drapes and one for the valance that we had to avoid. At first the LinkShade would disconnect from our wifi each morning. I contacted the seller and they responded both times within 24 hours. They downloaded new firmware to our unit which corrected the issue! It has now been close to 2 months with no further wifi issues. I have used the iPhone app to open and close them many times and the only thing I found was that if the shade was fully open or closed it worked every time, but if the shade is partially open you may need to press "stop" before it will go the direction you want. Oh and did I say how well they block the morning light? My wife and I have been sleeping longer that we actually wanted to on many mornings, but I only set an alarm if really have to be somewhere early!! You won't be disappointed!

Great product! Customer support responded almost instantly. First shade was damaged, seller overnighted a replacement. A couple step process got me connected to Alexa. Set the top and bottom stops and I'm good to go. These are blackout shades and are not very decorative. They're made well and look it just kind of plain. Love the fact that they can be scheduled and work with Alexa for an affordable price. I highly recommend these so far.

I’ve had this shade for a couple of years. It’s never worked. The customer service is fantastic, I’ve emailed them on weekends and they’ve responded super quick. Unfortunately though, this is just not a reliable product.It consistently loses connectivity. Like all the time. I rarely need to close these blinds, but of course, when I actually want and need to open the app and tell the blinds to close, it won’t connect. Every single time it fails. And I have to go close them manually.I’ve spent hours on the phone with them. They even sent me a brand new motor and control box and spent hours testing and troubleshooting once again.After spending hours with them, it works... for a day or two and then it’s dead in the water all over again.After trying to get this product to work consistently for several years they just haven’t figured it out and I cannot recommend this product to anyone else.If you want a good and solid blind that you can raise and lower by walking up to the blinds and pushing a button every time, then these work great for that.If you need to put these out of reach and you went to buy them because they claim to offer an app for you phone to control them (or control them via Alexa) then don’t buy these. THEY JUST DON’T WORK.

Bought two shades for my bedroom so I can have it pitch black when I go to sleep but then have these roll open automatically early in the morning so I can rise with the sun. I sleep better because of these now and wake up easier -- that's a big deal!The product can be a little tricky to set up but once you do it works great and looks sharp. Works with Alexa well but I normally just have it on an automatic schedule.I wouldn't buy from anywhere else as while the shades are great what's been an even better experience is the customer service and support from LinkShades!When I was troubleshooting a controller box they got back to my message within hours and helped me figure it out super fast -- when it turned out I burnt out the controller box, they shipped me a brand new one in 2 days for free!Then a few weeks later when I asked them about where I could buy longer cords for the controller box, they said they'd be happy to send me some and shipped me those in 2 days as well... for free! That's what I call awesome customer support and care.The cost might seem premium for the shades but it's a great product and the customer support you get from LinkShades is bar none!
