Essential Reference Book for any QMS
As the title suggests, this book really does describe the ISO 9001 standard in simple, applicable terms. It was a quick, easy read, and served as a great reference tool throughout the overhaul of our quality system. I read through it once, then walked through the standard, our system, and this book section by section. The result: a flawless registration audit after only 4 months. We are a midsize, international corporation in the aerospace industry, so we're not talking a 'mom and pop' QMS. For the go-getter quality manager new to ISO, this is a must-have.I particularly appreciated the examples provided, the style of writing, and the no nonsense discussion of what the standard entails. We had a very clear understanding and expectation going into our audit. While some of that had to do with our ability to process and apply the lessons from this book, the book itself is worth its weight in gold.

Good explanation on the how and why of ISO 9001
This book gives a good understanding of the reasoning in the ISO 9001 management philosophy, how it works and why you need it. It's an excellent starter if you're a manager of any other department than quality management. Not enough to fully implement the system, but that's also not needed for most employees and managers – you've got experts helping you in that.Highly recommended read if don't understand "why QA is bothering you with this paper tiger ISO certification process again."

I found this book is easy to understand for the new persons
I found this book is easy to understand for the new persons. As a new QA manager, I have not much experience in ISO9001 but I need to learn about it very fast within a few weeks in order to cope with the re-certification. This book severs me very well. The content of the book is concise and in the order similar to the official ISO9001:2008. In addition, this book is written in the way that you can adapt it to your work and life. I found it very useful.

Excellent book. The Author makes the complex
Excellent book. The Author makes the complex, very simple. Recently i was hired to lead a companies ISO 9001 Initiative. Though I was experienced in using ISO, I was wary that I understood all I the "ins and outs" of ISO to know how to lead the effort. After reading this book I feel totally prepared for the challenge. I hope the author comes out with an update for the changes to ISO expected in 2015.

very practical view on iso9001
this is the best book on iso9001 i have found. it has a very practical view on the topic and is complementary to the other iso9001 books, that often more or less reiterate the standard. with this book - along with others - i was able to complete the quality manual for my organisation.all in all a very helpful and intelligent interpretation of the standard. highly recommended to anyone who really wants to turn quality management into reality and not only copy the standard

We got certified!
Exactly what we needed for our small shop to get certified the first time, with minimal corrective action required after our ISO audit. If you don't mind doing some technical writing, doing it his way works so much better than the canned kits I bought & tried to use pieces of.

Excellent Content but Ebook Lacks Useable Table of Contents
I agree with others that the book's content is excellent. However the Kindle version's Table of Contents is largely useless, with entries like, "B-01_01-172_9001EbookChapter2". Using the Table of Contents for a handbook is essential and frequent. So searching for topics in this electronic version is very frustrating. And unless you know exactly which words to search for, the Search function provides little compensation.

This is a fantastic primer for anyone in an organisation who has been given the task of working with the quality management system. I've been doing this for a couple of years now and some of the helpful tips and hints in the book (things you kinda wish your auditors would just tell you because they clearly know) are helpful even in the fairly mature QMS that we have.

This is the one you can actually read
Unlike some other ISO 9001 material that I've reviewed you can read this.I suspect this tells you pretty much everything you need to know, plus you can actually read it.

Plain English indeed
As a professional consultant in the field, I heartily recommend this book to my clients. It is the most user friendly introduction to ISO 9001 I have ever seen in either English or German, and that includes my own training materials. This book will help you cut through the jargon and have meaningful discussions with your consultants (if you use any) and auditors. It will not be the magic bullet - just putting it under your pillow at night will not do the trick.Implementing a quality management system and bringing it to certification standard is work. But this book will make you realize that a company that works already has a management system - you will have to document things more and possibly implement some additional processes, but this should actually help your business, not hinder it.This is where a good consultant adds value: Not that much by helping you get the certificate on the wall, but by using the ISO 9001 implementation to look through your core processes, make them more understood and quite possibly more streamlined and critically challenge "we've always done it this way". Consultants will have more experience than you in industry best practices and how other companies do things. Some readers may balk at the informal language used throughout the book. This is in fact a strength, not a weakness as quality management is by many seen to much of an add-on to a business that has not much to do with how things are really done. The plain language quickly dispenses with this myth and encourages you to set up your management system so that it works on the shop floor, not as the kind of bureaucratic monster we all loathe.
