Had a simple bag with a hard shoulder pad and the strap kept twisting inside it. Got the longer Large shoulder pad and put it over the hard pad and the rest of the strap and brilliantly holds everything in place. No more twisting issues and it's so comfortable. I can put the bag on my shoulder and it feels like I'm hardly carrying any weight anymore where the strap with hard pad used to cut into my shoulder and the bag felt heavy. LOVE it!Plus, I ordered on a Wednesday evening and got it Thursday afternoon. (I have a Prime membership.)

Needed an add on shoulder pad for the daily briefcase which goes everywhere with me. Was using one from 3 generations back which I kept moving from briefcase to new briefcase because they all come with crap straps and pads. My latest briefcase has the same bad strap and my long term one finally just wore out. RIP. Bought this to go over a Timbuk2 strap which is wide. This thing is large enough to go around it easily and the velcro which wraps around it is STRONG. This thing isn't coming off. The shoulder pad is grippy enough to not slide around. I saw some complaints about the red tag which I thought I'd want to remove but I don't want to forget where it came from as I love this shoulder pad. If you are looking for large size shoulder pad this is a great one.EDIT: 2018-11-02 - Just bought a third one as the grip has failed again, this time about about 3.5 years of daily commuting use. BUY.EDIT: 2015-05-26 I just bought another one as the grippyness of the the shoulder pad was fading. You can see this as a good thing or a bad thing. I'm disappointed about losing the grip but tickled pink I can just by another one. Note it faded after daily use commuting to work every day for 2 years. This ain't bad. I am rotating the less grippy one down to a guitar case strap and putting the new one on my briefcase for another 2 years hopefully. Other than loss of grippyness I still love this pad. I will add I've looked at removing the red tag on both straps that some users are concerned about but haven't bothered.

Had problems with neck pain recently and my chiropractor suggested it was my heavy messenger bag (also a Manhattan product). I love that bag and carry a good amount of stuff on my commute everyday didn't want to stop wearing it so I got this. The padding definitely helps and I haven't had any neck pain since. Knocking 1 star off the review since it is a bit bulky and goofy looking, but I think that size is the only way to really help pad the neck/shoulder area.

This shoulder pad is exactly what I had been hoping for. I have a duffle bag that's a few years old and the original pad had broken off from the strap, making the bag painful to carry. The Manhattan Portage shoulder pad fits well on the strap (and very securely, at that) and it's very comfortable. It made a big difference the last time I traveled overseas.

I needed a "non-slip" pad for my soft-sidded brief case shoulder carry strap. This pad is NOT as "non-slip" as expected slides easily under light loads. I often have to carry several items and having the straps sliding off my shoulder or cutting into the shoulder is not a good thing. This pad is sturdy, well-made and adaptable to just about any strap of 2 inches or less width. However, after a year of trying to use it I do not recommend it because of its slip attributes. Revised down to 3 stars after several almost a year of use.

great and well made shoulder pad. I will use it for years to come. Easy to put on you strap especially for traveling and it is so comfortable. I would recommend this product to anyone with back and neck problems. Really anyone regardless!

I have to carry a heavy breast pump bag 4 times a day about 10 minutes back and forth. The building I work in is large. This pad is AWESOME! My Medela bag had a thin pad on it already. It was starting to wear after 2 kids of use, seems fraying. So it looked bad but I had to have something there. The bag is just too heavy not to have a pad. This came and I thought wow it's a little thick, but it made the WHOLE bag feel lighter! It is great! Well worth it if you are carrying around a heavy bag regularly.

It's a bit expensive for what it is, but it fits my bag strap perfectly, and has never once slipped off my shoulder. Clearly this is well made from highly durable nylon and should last as long (if not longer) than the bag itself.

自分が利用してるバッグには、これは大きすぎました。しっかりとサイズを計算すべきだったと反省しています。購入した大サイズはボストンバッグやテニスのラケットバッグのような幅広用。パッドは少々硬めで肩に置いても曲がってくれません。バッグに結構な重みが必要です。私の使用している財布やペットボトル入れる程度のバッグでは、仕様用途に不向きなのだと思います。

重い荷物を入れて歩く時の肩に食い込むストレスはかなり軽減されました。カバンが大きめなのと、大は小を兼ねるかなと思って大きいサイズにしたけど、荷物が軽い時に浮いてしまうので、小さくても良かったかな…と。サイズはカバンよりも体型に合わせて選ぶ方がいいかもしれません。

装着することにより肩への負担と洋服の傷みが軽減

レビューにあるように、使い始めは若干堅い感じがします。50ｍｍのベルトにつけたので、ホールド感ばっちりで、非常に使いやすいです。
