1 1/2-Inches Pastry Brush with Boar Bristles and Lacquered Hardwood Handle, Basting BBQ Marinade Brush, Kitchen/Cooking Brushes

I haven't used it yet, so I can't attest to its long-term durability, but so far it seems like good quality for the price.Pro:- The bristles are fairly soft -- pretty good for brushing pastries or pie crust without leaving marks in the pastry.- The wood handle has a light coat of varnish, which should help protect the wood when it is washed (by hand).- PriceCon:- Right out of the packaging, it lost about 10 bristles as I was cleaning it for the first time. Hopefully that's all of the bristles that will fall out.- I'd prefer bristles that were a little longer to make the brush even more flexible for brushing delicate pastries and pie crusts. I have't used it yet, so maybe the bristle length (about 1.5 inches) will be ok.

Brush sheds a little at first but is fine after a couple washings. Bristles are soft enough for delicate uses.

I was very excited to get this natural brush for baking, but the brush fell off as soon as I opened it. At first I thought maybe it was for cleaning, but the gap between the handle and brush was so wide that it wouldn’t stay on. I used a waterproof epoxy to reattach it and now it works fine.

Very good quality

This is an excellent basting/marinade brush. It's natural boar bristles on a hardwood handle and with metal ferrule. Synthetic bristles just don't do the job that natural bristles do, but it's been difficult to find a natural bristle brush. Until now. Excellent product! It has a good feel in the hand and spreads the sauce evenly. And it doesn't shed all over the place, either, as synthetic bristles often do.

When I received the brush I washed it in a gentle soap before using. Many of the bristles came out. This hasn’t happened when I have bought other brushes at a local name-brand housewares store. Do not recommend.

This is a wonderful brush just what I needed. Been using a silicone basting brush, but not satisfied, it doesn't pick up or spread marinades or oil well. This does. Just got an air fryer, which I love, but canned cooking spray is hard to control, sprays far too much oil all over the place. With this brush I have control. Years ago I swiped a wonderful boar bristle brush from my mother's painting gear (the brush was extra not used lol) It was wonderful. This one nicely takes it's place. I'll probably see if the seller has different sizes. This has a nice broad brush that makes it very multi-purpose. I think a smaller one would be efficacious also

I returned this pastry brush but only because I found one locally that is exactly like my old ones that I loved. The design of this one comes close to my ideal. This brush appears to be high quality with a handle long enough to use on the grill, though that is not how I use pastry brushes. It has nice soft bristles which I think is very desirable in a pastry brush. Boar bristle brushes are much better than the ones that have silicon bristles; those may be easier to clean but they are not very good for brushing, in my opinion. Silicon "bristles" do not really hold the liquid that you are trying to "brush" and are much too floppy. Boar bristles do a much better job.

Bought to use as BBQ brush. Used once and worked well as spread was thick and even, and cleaning was easy. Much better than any silicone brush I’ve used before. Happy with purchase - if anything changes will update review.

As expected

The handle was a bit different than I thought it would be but it was still good. Not sure if the price is worth it.

I would not recommend this product.I bought this brush, it arrived yesterday and I unwrapped the plastic around it, and the brush was very stinky (like some orange smelling chemical). I hand washed the brush to try to remove the smell, and the plastic piece and bristles just completely came unglued from the handle! Not well made. I would not recommend this product.

Cheap. Plastic bristles fall out, regularly. Also took like 3 months to arrive. The seller was fairly responsive but kept telling me to “wait one more week” like 5 times.
