Great Julienne Slicer (as well as for regular slicing)
I wanted to make some really good salads and soups, and found this Mandoline to work well for that purpose. This was my first time using a Mandoline Slicer. The Mandoline works great for hard or crisp foods, but not as well for softer foods. One tip I give for purchasers: When using the safety grip on foods I found it worked better when holding the Mandoline handle toward you and slicing away from you noting that the safety grip should used at about a 30 degree angle with the higher end furthest from you.In my pictures I show the results of slicing and Julienne. I have a mis of cabbage, carrots, onions, celery, yellow potato, and lemon provided as an example of what you can do. The carrots, celery, potato, and onions are in both slices and Julienne. The cabbage sliced beautifully, as did the lemon.I tried a sharp cheddar cheese, but it turned out to be a softer cheese and so it didn’t grate well. I fully expect that harder cheese will work fine. Salads and soups generally don’t need fruit, so the closest I got was using a fully ripe lemon.I also greatly appreciated that this Mandoline had the enclosure for foods to land in. Without that, I would have used it on a slicing board. It was easy to use, easy to clean, and felt durable moreso after you get the hang of slicing, grating, and Julienne.Enjoy!

Great item for the price
This slicer is one of the least expensive I have seen yet it worked perfectly for me. I had borrowed a more expensive one so I was able to compare the two side by side. The more expensive slicer was made of heavier plastic and seemed a bit more durable. The track where the fruits/vegetables slide was also slightly wider. However, I really liked this mandoline more and found it easier to use. The handle is well designed and at a more natural angle than the other. The container for the cut fruit/vegetables, missing on the higher-priced slicer, is quite useful. The rubber, non-skid pads on the bottom kept the unit from slipping. Finally, the knob that holds the food to be sliced (so you don't have to get your fingers close to the blade) worked better than the borrowed slicer and allowed the food to be sliced down to the very end. I had no problem slicing any of the foods I have tried so far and am anxious to try others. This was a good purchase which I would recommend to anyone who does not need a mandoline for heavy use.

Good stuff
Does what it’s supposed to. I’m not going to spam you with worthless photos of sliced and shivved fruits and vegetables, but suffice it to say it works quite well on harder/firmer fruits and vegetables. I especially like slicing firm plantain with it to make patacones :)Overall, it does requires a bit of force to work smoothly though, I.e. not something you’d want in the hands of a child, especially of course because the various exposed blades. It does have a safety pusher type of thing to gear food and keep your hands away from anything, but still, functionality easily defeated by a child.Overall a good product though, I do wish it were thicker, even though nothing gave me any indication that it’s lacking, I just like my kitchen tools to be on the industrial end of the spectrum in their heft :)

From fries to pies, this product has you covered!
I was hesitant to purchase this product because it was so inexpensive. I decided to try it regardless, and I was not disappointed! I do a lot of cooking and baking, so does my mother. I make my own dog food, and I hate slicing and dicing all the fruits and veggies. It takes such a long time, and by the time I'm done, I have blisters on my fingers from holding the peeler for so long. This was so easy to use. I timed it, and I was able to slice an entire apple in less than thirty seconds! This is such a great product, and I like how everything stores inside of the caddy. It came with three additional blades for the slicer, and you can use it for everything from pies to fries! Great product and super easy to use. It came with picture instructions, but you don't even really need them. This product is that simple. This slicer would make an excellent Christmas present too!

Blade works
I'm a bit disappointed with this product. The first one came with the base part broken. I sent it back and received a replacement very quickly. The slicer part works wonderfully - sharp and you can adjust thicknesses easily, however, the base part the veggies, cheese, ect fall into is junk. My replacement cracked on the second use just from the pressure of me slicing squash. I now use it only to store the blades and I put the mandolin part over a regular bowl when I'm cutting veggies. Five stars for the slicer, one star for the base.

Works fine
I have a spiralizer but needed a slicer and did not need something to costly. For the price this one works fine...could be a little sturdier. I like the veg holder as the prongs hold on tight so I feel safe using it. 1 reasons for a 4 rating...button/dial on side needs to be pulled out and turned to change setting. Tricky, when pulling it out tends to pull the whole bar out that holds the blade sturdy.

really easy to use, and clean up.
I have no teeth...can't even get any made. I haven't been able to eat things like apples, radishes, celery... I could go on and on, but now I can slice a radish paper thin and I'm able to eat it, same with celery, etc. This will cut your prep time for soups, and salads in 1/2 (unless your a chef who cuts up vegetables for a living)It's really easy to clean up after I use it. If you use one of these I'm pretty sure you'll use it all the time too.P.S. I'm not an easy to please person either.

This slicer is budget oriented and it works perfectly for our family, we tried few slicers from other online vendors but this was the best out of the lot. It works quite well on vegetables, its helping us to tryout different recipes. We love making chips from beets/potatoes and plantains. This works perfectly for it.Will update the review after few months....stay tuned...
