Arthur and the Golden Rope: 1 (Brownstone's Mythical Collection, 1)

What an absolutely fantastic book! Love the excellent illustrations and the unlikely hero Arthur who shows bravery and resilience in the face of fierce criticism and danger. Adventure, excitement, magic and fun! Bought for my 7 year old son who also thoroughly enjoyed it as he is interested in the Norse gods, but ended up using it in my English lessons for my Year 3 class as well because we liked it so much. My pupils were massively engaged by it and there is so much to explore through both reading and writing lessons. The pages are matt and such good quality, they smell amazing!

My son read this book as a class book for English and he loved it and was very engaged with the story. He was so happy I got him a copy for home so he could explain it all to me with the story too! (Would have been a boom I’d never have chosen myself so sad even better!)

Love this graphic novel-esq story and I would definitely recommend it to young readers (maybe 7+) but also to teachers as a teaching book for English. It has been very successful in our school especially through the power of reading approach.

I couldn't love this book any more. Really. The kids love it. (5 y/o). And we buy it for everyone. It's brilliant. A graphic style for lovers of Tintin/Asterix etc, but so much more engaging and contemporary while feeling classic at the same time.

This is wonderful. As a lover of mythology, this made me so happy! I thought it was so bloody brilliantly done. Properly gorgeous illustrations - I would happily use a lot of these pages to inspire writing - and you’ve gotta root for an underdog. More from this please!

Purchased for my eight year old son who is reading this for school and to use as a basis to expand on storytelling, character study etc etc.I'd it's definitely a good choice by the school as he has certainly shown enthusiasm in his reading and more importantly analysis pieces!Illustrations are bold and quirky.

I bought this book because of the beautiful artwork and it did not disappoint! A wonderful fantasy adventure story that will appeal to children and adults of all ages.

Wonderful illustrations and an exciting story with a gentle introduction to Norse mythology, my young children love to hear this story over again at bedtime.
