Native American Tarot Deck

Intense
This deck is beautiful, however itβs notebook is super tiny so the words are difficult to read. Itβs lengthy but if you are patient you will love them as you learn each card.

Dark and disturbing imagery
A colleague recommended this deck, which I bought because I liked the artwork and also because I know little about native American culture and wanted to learn more. The cards are smaller than usual, which is fine with me because they are easy to shuffle. The booklet that comes with the cards is very confusing. The delineations are poorly written and don't give you a sense of what the cards mean. This is not a clone of the RWS deck and has many idiosyncratic images, so you really need a good guidebook to explain what the author intended by each card. I would have rated it higher if the enclosed guide were better. What disturbed me about the deck was the extremely negative imagery. It seems to glorify violence, revenge, torture, drunkenness, persecution, wanton destruction, etc. Several of the cards are based on the horrible suffering and abuse of Native Americans at the hands of white European settlers and the vengeance of Native Americans against their European oppressors. For example, according to the guide book, the Matriarch of Blades (similar to the Queen of Swords) vindictively and painfully tortured her enemies, to make sure they suffered as much as possible, before she killed them and cut off their scalps. How do you incorporate the meaning of this card into a reading for a client?

Cheaply made
I was really excited to receive this deck. Unfortunately it's made very cheap. It's also very small. It's the size of a regular deck of cards and made with the same paper material.

So glad I got these
I read tarot and while, one good deck is enough, I can't help myself when I see an interesting looking deck. I accumulate decks for their visual appeal and to add more cultural diversity to my readings. That's why I got this one. Turns out to be one of the decks I'm most connected to of all my decks! I like the imagery, the stories and the titles of the cards. Some complain that the images are not "authentic" native American etc. But I didn't buy it for that. The authors have done a lot of research and refer to a variety of native customs. But ultimately tarot is tarot is tarot. You can get the same reading with a deck of playing cards. But I'm happy I found these! These images light my π₯ and get my imagination going.

Very intense deck very prolific meetings with in each of the artwork on the card it is not a pretty deck"
Very intense deck, very complex pictures, the artwork isn't spectacular it is very hand drawn. We are so used to seeing electronically generated pretty appealing designs on Tarot cards lately at first I did not like this deck but upon doing a reading and consulting the booklet that came with it it became an incredibly powerful reading and I could understand the artwork and the iconography associated with what each particular card meant in that reading this is not a deck for the faint of heart as it is not a pretty deck but it's full of history and spirituality and depth and is very good intuitively once you understand and have read the booklet on each of the cards meetings and study it it does require study. The magic behind this deck and the people that produced it have gotten their message clearly through and if you understand the red Road you understand the meaning behind this deck

VERY beautiful tarot deck
VERY beautiful tarot deck. It's a secondary deck I keep around since some people seem more comfortable getting a reading when it's looked at as "Native American" over European (silly, but comfort is important when it comes to getting a good reading). The information within is beautiful and, being part Native American myself, I was impressed to find a solid unitarian deck that is respectful to the cultures from which it draws. The booklet contains some incredible and intimidating spreads and I look forward to trying them as I get to know the deck better. I'm not a personal fan of the art, but the rustic hand-drawn style appeals to most of the people who've seen my deck.

Almost Panicked, Haha
There are some of the depictions that I don't quite like, meanwhile others that I absolutely adore. With that, I had gotten concerned at counting only 21 major arcana, but by taking a quick glance at the booklet I found that this deck only had 21 major arcana. I counted all the other card to come up with the 56 minor arcana cards. It's certainly not your typical deck like that of Rider-Waite, but I like it. I need a bit to get used to it and get to know that cards as the card have to get to know me, so to speak, but I'm happy with my purchase.

Love these
I bought this deck to go with my Native Oracle decks that I have. I have smaller hands and these cards are the perfect size....very easy to shuffle. The card stock is nice too. Very happy with this purchase.

I am disappointed with the booklet that comes with the deck
I am still getting used to them. The illustrations are lovely. I am disappointed with the booklet that comes with the deck, the printing is small, the booklet is small and only made of paper. Compared to all my other decks which all have nice sized, sturdy pages it's just ok.

Native American Tarot Deck
This Native American Tarot Deck richly depicts a culture vibrant in form and color. Every card has beautifully conceived the life and symbols sacred to our indigenous people. There is a sense of being in touch with their tribal essence and the countless features that made them unique.

Amazing!
I'm a collector of Tarot cards and an enthusiast of Native American culture, and these are hands down some of the best tarot cards I now own. I love the illustrations and the synopsis of each card is so well done. I had thought they might be superficial and faddish, but they are well rooted in knowledge of Native American culture. Would 100% recommend!
