Simon Fischer Lekvar Prune Butter, 17 ounce - 12 per case

It's a unique product that is an excellent fat substitute in dark colored and flavored baked goods such as chocolate or gingerbread. The healthy aspect of the high fiber is just a bonus. I found a terrific recipe online on Eating Well Magazine's website for Gingerbread Coffeecake Muffins. I double the recipe and make them as jumbo muffins and they are DElish! Found a couple of jars of this Prune Butter at a high price at the local gourmet natural food store. Knowing that you can buy anything on Amazon I placed a big order through them. As a Prime Member, I had them delivered to my home for far less than I could have gotten them locally. In baking, this prune butter adds moistness and a soft texture at such a reduced fat content. "Awesome" is so overused these days, but use this prune butter when you track down this (or similar) recipe, and that's the result.

This used to available in my local supermarket. I had to search and search and lo and behold I found it at Amazon! Who woulda thought???? It's thick and not overly sweet and tastes great on a croissant or bagel!! I ordered a case so that I wouldn't have to be without out for a whole year!!!
