Game Changer

I love JG as a solo artist and as a member of NE. This album is good for those that want to lay back and enjoy the ride in their home setting and if your partner loves too, all the better for listening together as Johnny knows how to set the mood right.

This is indeed a game changer! JG as he has always been, strong voice and amazing bass, what an album, no weak track at all!

Connaissant cet atiste depuis de nombreuses années avec le groupe NEW EDITION dans un premier temps et ensuite en carrière solo et en duo avec une autre artiste STACY LATTISAW, cet album est bien dans l'ensemble. Dommage que sa voix perd un peu de sa puissance. Pour moi les deux albums vraiment indispensable sont ceux de 1990 et 1993. Forcément production JIMMY JAM & TERRY LEWIS.

Role Play : ouah qu'elle basse funky. C'est du lourd !Guinevere : déroutante pendant les premières écoutes. Puis elle devient très attachante.Your Body & This One's For Me And You : on retrouve la magie du R & B qui donne envie de se bouger.Vocaux groovy à souhait.Album très bien agencé dans son éclectisme musical.

mister Gill est toujours bien là! mis à part le dernier titre c'est du tout bon!!!un album de ce calibre tous les ans je suis preneur :)

ジョニーさんは、期待を裏切らないです。さすが、ジョニーさんですね。5000Milesの曲は、すっかりハマりました。とても素晴らしい曲です。gamechangerも良かった。strungoutもとても良い曲です。曲には流行というものがあるのですが、その時代の流行にのせて、作曲して編曲して、見事に歌い上げられてます。5000Milesは、聴いて感動しました。何回聴いても、とても良いです。やっぱりジョニーさん、とてもカッコ良いですね。この「gamechanger」のCDは、入荷待ちで、頼んでから途中で、無期限の入荷待ちとなってしまったようで、Amazonさんより、注文の解約をされても良いとの通知を、頂いたのですが、それでも、このCDはジョニーさんのアルバムの中でも、ジョニーファンの評価がとても高かったCDでしたので、どうしても聴いてみたくて。解約をせずに入荷される日を、ひたすら黙って待っておりました。Amazonさんより、無期限の入荷待ちの通知を頂いてから、2ヶ月ほど経ってから、入荷される目処が立ったとの通知を頂き、ようやく品が届きました。けれど待った会がありました。大満足です。ジョニーさんの曲は、とても癒やされます。ジョニーさん、良い曲をありがとうございます。Amazonさん、一生懸命になって、このCDを海外から日本へ届けて下さり、ありがとうございました。ジョニーさんとAmazonさんに感謝です。

この人もぶれない自分をしっかり持ってる方です。どの曲も流行りに流されずに、ただただソウルを愛してるのだと思わせる大人のアルバムです。本当に、大人の立派な男性になりましたよね。

完璧な曲群が、完璧に配列されていると思います。思わずステップを踏みたくなってしまう曲（特に、③、⑨、⑫等）が多いので、運転中聴くには、注意が必要です。あと、ニューエディションって、いいグループですね。ベイビーフェイスを追っているうちに、ジョニーギルの偉大さに気付き、このCDで、ニューエディションの魅力に気付きました。

ボビー・ブラウンの後任としてニュー・エディションに加入。早熟なまでにディープな歌声で，少年期から大人のヴォーカル・グループへと成長するニュー・エディションの過渡期を支えたジョニー・ギルもすっかり大ベテランに。約15年ぶりにリリースした前作『Still Winning』も本当に素晴らしい作品でしたが，この最新作も充実しています。　アルバムは，甘美で夢見心地なミッドテンポ「Your Body」で幕を開けます。とてもしなやかで心安らぐナンバーです。続く「Behind Closed Doors」はリード・シングル。ゆったりとスウィングするハッピーな雰囲気のナンバー。ファルセットも駆使したハイトーンのシャウトが印象的です。そして「This One's For Me and You」。何と，ニュー・エディションの新曲です！（実に10年ぶり）　優美なメロディーに，ラルフのしなやかで繊細な歌声と，ディープでマニッシュなジョニーの歌声，そして甘美なコーラス。これは最高です！タイトル曲の「Game Changer」は，休日の昼下がりを思わせるような，のどかな雰囲気のバラード。穏やかなメロディーとは裏腹にマニッシュな歌声でグイグイと押してきます。　これだけでも十分に満足なのですが，聴きどころはまだまだ続きます。特に中盤から後半へかけての展開が素晴らしいです。ニヒルなメロディーで淡々と迫る「5000 Miles」は，骨太な歌声に孤高を感じさせます。「Strung Out」は，80年代に流行ったブラコンを思わせる，甘くキャッチーなメロディーにしなやかなステップのダンス・ナンバー。とてもスタイリッシュです。続く「Role Play」は，これまた80年代のエレクトリック・ファンクを思わせるキャッチーなメロディーに打ち込みビートのダンス・ナンバー。どれもカッコ良いですね。　最後は，エレクトロまでやっています。個人的にはオーセンティックなR&Bシンガーという印象が強い僕個人としては，あまり好きじゃないのですが，完成度は高いのでエレクトロが好きな人なら魅かれるかも。　ソロ転向後，一時は不遇だったジョニーも，ここへ来て上向き。GAPバンド解散後も精力的にアルバムをリリースしているチャーリー・ウィルソンと同様に，これからも味わい深いアルバムを制作し続けて欲しいものです。

What a GREAT album! Only one COMPLETE miss on this one. Thank God it's the last song on the album "Guinevere"....what was he thinking??I can understand that modern R&B artists like to make a trip to dance-music, but does it really have to sound that outdated?? If he really wanted to do this (and I can't understand why, his loyal fanbase is probably not into that!) he should have hired a big shot DJ like Afrojack or Armin van Buuren!! Well..enough complaining about this..let's go to the good stuff... The rest of the album is pure R&B magic for the grown and sexy.The first song sounds like a track he could have done with LSG, followed by the superb track "Behind Closed Doors". He continues that winnning streak with a song he recorded with New Edition. Best track on this album for me is the beautiful "What is This". A perfect slow jam to enjoy with your wife (or whomever you choose to slowdance on this ;))Unlike his previous album this one is not just slow-jams, but contains a couple of decent mid and up tempo jams as well. Most songs have a 70's/80's soul,R&B and sometimes even disco ( i.e.Role Play) feel to it. His voice is still strong as ever and puts him in a class of his own. I strongly suggest you give this a try. A feel good cd you will play for years to come ......just skip the last track :P (I forgive you mr.Gill haha)

It's Johnny Gill, I mean what else is there to say? I love Johnny Gill's voice; the lyrics in most of his songs & his performance in his videos & also "live on stage." When Johnny sings the ballads on this CD or any CD really, he is just awesome! He is just so doggone gifted and talented! As soon as I heard "Game Changer," "Behind Closed Doors" & "This One's for Me & You" on the radio I knew I had to have this CD & it is hard for me to hit eject once I put it in the CD player.

This the absolute best cd/album he's done in years. I love very song including the one he sings with New Edition. Buy it you will not be disappointed!

I was pleasantly surprised to find how creative this new Johnny Gill cd was. All the song arrangements were well thought out. I can tell a lot of hard work was put into making this cd. It right away became one of my favorites.

Johnny Gill did this! I have been listening to this CD nonstop since I received it. This is the first time in a long time that I've bought a CD and loved every single song on it. I originally bought it because I love the song he does with New Edition, but the entire CD is awesome. I look forward to more music from him soon.

Had to get Mr. Gill. Vocals are strong and so consistent.

This album was awesome. Classic Johnny, he knows he can sing!
