The lighting provided by our stove hood was not bright enough for our liking. I saw this LED strip and thought I would give it a try. It is just about perfect for our use. The only reason for docking a star is that the light is either a bit lacking in the red spectrum or a bit heavy in the green spectrum. It is slight and my wife doesn't even notice it. But my hobby is photography and I can see it when I look with a critical eye. But it is not enough to bother me. I don't think the CRI for this light matches some of the better LED lights. Of course there is still the unknown factor of how long is the life of this thing. I can't speak to that yet. But for now this has made my wife and I happy cookers.

For being cheap, these work great. It's bright, and attaches easily to the underside of my desk. However, I have 2 issues:1) The controller to turn on the light is part of the cable, about 12 inches from the USB connector. This makes turning on / off the light cumbersome and isn't very user friendly.2) In the image, I have a very clean (no dust) desk shelf. The sticky pads attacked to the light have constantly come off. It's to the point where I need to tape down the sticky pads, because clearly basic tape has more grip than them.In the future, when I have to replace it, because you know it won't last long, I'll probably end up spending a few dollars more and getting one with a remote, or is easier to turn on instead of reaching under my desk, as well as one that can attach better without drilling holes.

I do some amount of hobby electronics, and I am continually losing small screws, wires, resistors, etc. on the ground. Having the light mounted underneath the desk, is helpful when I drop things to find them, particularly using grabber bars to pick them up.I also have a soldering station inside of a roll top desk. The roll top allows me to keep the current project(s) out, but to prevent our kitties from knocking things down. I have a second LED light inside the desk, and it is useful as a second light.

Its a great light. It says it comes with magnets, mine did not. I used the foam adhesive pads to adhere it to top side of a desk hutch and it works great. Comes with two clips to help run the cord which was nice. Overall, pretty happy with the light. Its not too bright or glaring, but a nice soft light for reading.

Very bright for such a small compact strip light. Perfect for above sink, under cabinet or dark closet. Will definitely order more eventually

So, instead of adhering the back of this light to a surface, I mounted both ends on arms overhanging my 3D printer's print bed. I left it on overnight only to find that the aluminium backing was very hot the next morning. The pictures above show 34° C (~ 93° F) for a light that's been on for a few hours vs. 25° C (~ 77° F) room temperature for one that's off.Where's this heat coming from? The plastic end without the wire slides off and you can there's a strip of flexible ultra-bright SMD LEDs. The voltage isn't labelled, so they probably run on 12V. USB provides 5V and so with 22 LEDs, there's a lot of heat from the voltage conversion.One more thing: the light bar consumes 7W and runs on 5V, so it's drawing ~1.4A. You'll want to plug this into an externally powered USB hub that can handle it.Update: I just measured the aluminum temperature again and it was 41° C (~100° F). I would not recommend affixing this light to a surface or leaving it on for long periods of time.

I bought this light to light my streaming video set up in my kitchen. This is especially convenient for me since I use my laptop and a USB hub to power them. I have it mounted underneath a cabinet but the magnetic mount also makes it perfect to store out of the way on my refrigerator. I also love that it's dimmable and has warm/cool/white lighting. Really handy!

Perfect light for a metal rack in our mud room. I can magnetically stick it to the bottom of the rack and leave this light on for people to come and go at night/early morning without turning on all of the lights. You can pick between warm/cool light and how bright.
