10/15/17 (5 stars): This bulb was purchased due to a persistent bug problem. In turn, the bugs attracted lizards which defecated so as to attract more bugs to the illuminated area.This blue bulb seems to have cut down on the bugs although around this time last year, they started to be less numerous as the fall season approached. I prefer a whiter light that illuminates the area better but will stay with the blue light if it substantially lessens the bug problem, and the mess that creates.The photo may help give a sense of the limited light this bulb puts off.UPDATE 12/6/18 (3 stars): The bulb burned out after nearly 14 months with it on about 11 hours per day. So the company's 15-yr. bulb life representation is questionable. Frankly, it's so vague that it's meaningless since they may have tested it to only be on an hour or so each day. As of this writing, the blue bulbs are not currently available so I may switch to https://www.amazon.com/Colored-Light-Equivalent-Medium-Listed/dp/B01LZB6IE4 which is also a 4 watt, 5 amp bulb.

It's sort of early for a review, but let's hope it stays positive. Local policemen were shot -- truly sad -- and this is part of the affirmation process. Compared to the other multitude of blue lights around town (many given away by the local hardware store), this actually provides some light, and is indeed very blue. Recommended if you need blue. Let's hope you will not.Edited 2018-03-12 - it's been ten months, and two have failed. The first failed after a few months, which they replaced for free, no questions asked : nice! The second failed a few days ago. OK, they are installed outside, so maybe the northern winters play havoc. But one should be warned or something : indoor use only!Changing from 5 to 1 star. Bummer. Off to the local hardware store.

Unlike other such LED bulbs I've purchased, this one has some heft to it, which generally translates into build-quality. The quality of the light is what I'd expected, and the color is a pleasant blue. I actually have it in a marbled, double-socket ceiling dome, with a red counterpart, and it looks great.Time will tell, but it's held up for the past month, with no issues, and indications point to it lasting a long time.

It was well packaged and looked to be a sturdy bulb. I put it on the front porch and WOW the color was absolutely awesome. Within a month the bulb started blinking on and off almost like it was on a 30 second timer. We took it out for fear of short in the bulb and possible fire hazard.

Bought this to show support of the people in blue.Like that it is energy efficient.Proudly burns in my front window nightly.

If you support LEO's and back the blue, or just want a bright blue porch light, this bulb is fantastic. While waiting for this bulb to be delivered I bought regular blue bulbs from the hardware store. The store bought bulbs are not nearly as bright as this one and they don't hold up to the quality of this bulb.

I purchased this product to place in my front porch light to honor a young police officer killed in my city while on duty. It provided exactly the brightness and blue color I was looking for. Would definitely recommend for this purpose.

Arrived quickly, beautiful color, and the bulb seems strong enough to last outdoors. Happy with this purchase!
