RL 382-BL Halyard Shackle

hello, in replacing factory shackles with lighter weight shackles, this rl 382bl is the one. some shackles that are cast don't twist very much. these racelite shackles are more streamlined and with the rigid bar in the middle of the shackle, the twist factor is minimized or if it does twist, time for a heavier duty shackle that is not easily removed. these are well made and can be used for any application that has a need for quick and painless removal in mere seconds. size: 1.5 inch long x .5 wide .25 shaft spring loaded the brace bar is .5 from the curved end and .75 to the removable pin. these are larger than some racelite ones on the market. so measure carefully for your application yrmv...great product and fast delivery

I needed to make up a halyard for a small asymmetrical spinnaker and this worked fine. My only concern is that because it is a formed steel rather than a forged steel it is a little wide with some strain on the spliced loop I made up on the end of the double braid line. However for the price difference I think it will be fine. It is certainly strong enough for the task, and fairly light keeping the weight aloft down.

Use a number of these on my small sailboats.
