Perfect Book at the Perfect Time
This was the perfect book for us, at the perfect time! Our 11-year-old son has been in competitive swimming since he was 6. Despite being really, really small, he's quite fast. Because of his size we have always fed him a really high protein diet thinking he needed it for muscle and strength. Even on meet mornings he would eat 2 eggs, 2 meats, a carb, and a fruit. So many people heard this and looked at us like we were strange, and now we know why. He's also ADHD, so we give him very little sugar and caffeine.We knew we needed to research and make some changes this season, and this book has been so helpful. The author wanted it to be easy to read and relate to... not a scientific journal. She succeeded. I've read it, and my husband has read it. This weekend our son read the basics of every chapter and made highlights. My husband and I are now going to highlight things. The fact that our family will all be on the same page is so positive. Because our son has read it, he knows that when we give him choices and plan things out, they aren't just coming from his parents... they are coming from the lady who wrote the book EAT RIGHT, SWIM FASTER.

THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR A STUDENT-ATHLETE
This was a fantastic book and an easy read. I myself am a student-athlete that really wanted to excel both academically and athletically, this book gave me an opportunity to reach that goal. As it was a very informative book, it also was incredibly easy to understand and follow the steps provided.When being diagnosed with celiac disease I found it very difficult to manage eating and swimming. With the help of Abby and her book I was not only able to reach my goals, but exceed them. This is an amazing book and I would highly recommend it.

Great read for all competitive swim parents
I love that this book gave both general and detailed sections. I use a lot of the tips for both my young swimmers!

Great athlete nutrition book
This is a great book that gives good examples that are easy to make and good recipes that my kids like.

Must have resource for all swim families!
This book is unlike any other on the market - it offers practical, evidence-based strategies to help any swimmer achieve their best. The meal and snack ideas are great, and I love that as a parent I can provide food that is uniquely geared for their training program. This book is full of great information, frequently asked questions, and wonderful recipes. It’s easy to understand and interesting to read (for me and my kids) and is a wonderful resource for our swim family.

Awesome reference book for sport nutrition
Awesome little book with all the right info in it. This was one that I actually read all the way through. It's a great quick reference with all the 'how to' and specific 'what to do' for sport nutrition. I swam competitively for 16yrs up to an international level and more recently now at a masters level. I found the info in this book spot on.

Great read, easy to follow nutrition you can customize for a better athletic
I found this to be a fabulous, easy to follow guide to your best nutritional self!! My daughter has taken very well to following our plan and has more energy for day to day, not just practice. It’s even helped remind me to tow the proper nutritional line at home. Would definitely recommend.

Not impressed
The information in the book repeated over and over. Book could be half of it size if not less. Not much new information unless you totally clueless about sports nutrition.
