SCHLEICH Dragon Rider Toy

I purchased this as a gift for our 5 year old grandson's Christmas 2013. After looking at the toy in the box I'm very pleased with it. The detail is superb. I had only the pictures, discription and other reviews to go by from Amazon.com. So very happy it came in a box with an extra cardboard sleeve for protection. This will make for easy wrapping. Any other Schleich toys I've seen in stores don't have any packaging available. I've never seen the dragons and griffins anywhere else in person. I will be looking for more figures from this site in the future.

This figure is big and super detailed. The color on the pictures is a little off, he's more of a reddish color on top and orange on the bottom. The dragon's face is really detailed, and the knight the rides him is really neat too. What's even more neat is that the knight can stand on his own, he doesn't always have to ride the dragon.It would be a good, sturdy play figure as well as a collector's item.I love it!

Overall figurine looks good. The paint around the eyes aren’t as detailed and realistic in person. And the right wing pops off of I rotate it in a certain angle. Minor complaints though.

Fantastic toy. We bought a bunch of them and the kids spend hours playing with them. They're well-made and have stood up well to many a battle.

My son is a huge fan of Schleich/Papo figures. This one didn't disappoint. Very nicely detailed. Beautiful colors. Great addition to his growing collection. We highly recommend these toys for their durability, detail, and creativity.

Schleich stuff is always top notch. My boys love it. This dragon in particular is rad! Detachable, articulating wings make it a little more engaging than some of the other Scheich dragons (yes--we own those too!)

This is truly amazing! The detail and sculpt as well as the paint job are incredible! I'd love to see more dragon riders like this one or even more dragons in this size range or bigger. Please Schleich?

Great toys! Well built. My son loves them!

Let me preface this by saying I'm a huge fan of Schliech toys in general. My autistic son adores them, and the vast majority are of excellent quality. That being said, do not buy this one. The wings on this one are moveable and attached to the body using ball joints, and they do not fit tight enough. The wings will fall out with very little movement. It wasn't just a dud either, Amazon sent a replacement and the second one had the same problem.Schleich makes a Griffin toy that has the same type of moveable wings, and it does not have the same problem, the wings fit solidly and are able to be moved without issue, so it doesn't seem to be a common problem with the design in general, just with this specific model. It wouldn't be as much of an issue if this wasn't expensive. If you're getting this for display, this will be a non issue, but if you're getting it for kids, get another one instead.

Very impressive chunk of plastic resin with real weight to it. Wings do move and yes they do come out with rough handling but in practice my son holds it more like a toy aeroplane than a flappy thing so it's not a problem.

Wow what can I say. This Dragon is fairly expensive however it is very large but my 7 year old is able to play with it with ease. The large wings are posable and theirs a magnet in the saddle and the rider so he won't simply fall off during play. Wonderful details, the armour is brilliant and the rider fits perfectly. The pride of my sons growing collection.

Son loves his high quality dragon. Made up with it Christmas morning and soon put it amongst his other shleich knights and dragon army. This is very durable and will outlast that cartoon dragon that many other children received for xmas !

A well made toy. We didn't have any problems with wings falling off easily as said in other reviews and my asd 8 yr old is very in to 'flapping ' wings! We would recommend!!!
