Wifi issues
BEWARE BUYING. The specs on the H96 are brilliant but it is TOTALLY LET DOWN BY IT'S WIFI. I have purchased both the stick version and box and both have SERIOUS PROBLEMS with wifi. I found that running a speed test on it for download speed showed that it would download over wifi at 0.5-1 Mps (making steaming videos impossible) whilst a Firestick version 2 connected to the same TV would download over wifi at 40Mps! A search on the internet shows many people have had issues with the wifi. Connecting the box version directly to the router via a LAN cable would give full download speeds indicating the issue is with the wifi. I am not sure if the issue is with the wifi chip or its firmware (I noticed that when testing on a friend's router I had excellent wifi transfer speeds so the issue may be with the firmware with certain networking protocols). The app that comes pre-installed on the device for updates to the firmware just shows an error when you run it and I have not been able to find an official website for the manufacturer to download approved firmware updates. IN SUMMARY: If you can connect the device directly to your router it's worth buying but if you are going to rely on wifi you are taking a gamble…
