Typically I use these instead of paper towels for drying produce after washing it. And I use them to clean up in most rooms and toss the towels in the waster. I use 3-5 or more every day.

I bought these to use as table runners and decided to dye them. I first soaked them in hot vinegar water for about 1 hour, rinsed, then dyed with deep pink/mauve food coloring (I didn't want to use toxic dye in my food pots or for things to be used around food). The colors came out a nice light pink, but if you want stronger colors, you'll likely need to use real fabric dye. They lay shapely and delicately along the tables.
