Product Description From Kevin Smith, the acclaimed director of Clerks, comes this outrageous story of two loafers, Jeremy London (The Babysitter) and Jason Lee (Kissing a Fool), who spend way too much time hanging out at the mall. When Brodie (Lee) is dumped by his girlfriend, Shannen Doherty (Heathers, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun), he retreats to the mall with his best friend T.S. (London), whose girlfriend has also left him. Between brooding and visits to the food court, the unmotivated twosome decide to win their girlfriends back with the help of the ultimate delinquents, Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) and Jay (Jason Mewes), whose continuing adventures take the word "nuisance" to a whole new level. .com Sophomore jinx hit hard in this second film by Kevin Smith, whose debut Clerks transcended the limits of its setting and budget to become something memorably funny. (Smith followed Mallrats with the wonderful Chasing Amy, so Mallrats definitely had the old curse.) A ramshackle comedy set in a mall, the film follows several story lines involving lovers, enemies, friends, goofballs, and Smith's own "silent" character, who also appeared in Clerks and Chasing Amy. A heavy self-consciousness weighs on everything, as if Smith forgot how to make obscenity funny instead of tedious. Still, it's nice to see some of the director's film family on screen, among them Jason Lee and Joey Lauren Adams. --Tom Keogh

Digital HD is NOT included
The movie itself is a just as I remembered it; classic Kevin Smith. The reason I'm giving it one star is because this blu-ray is listed as having Digital HD Ultraviolet and was the main reason I purchased this disc. But once you open it up and try to redeem the code, you'll discover that it is expired. A quick email to Universal reveals that they no longer offer a UV copy of this movie and, instead, I was given the option of receiving Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Big Nope. This practice of having digital copies expire when the case itself presents Digital HD as an added feature with no obvious warning that you might not get what you thought you were paying for is completely deceptive and unacceptable. It's like advertising the package contains both Blu-ray and DVD and finding they've removed the Blu-ray discs because that deal has expired. That obviously hasn't happened because removing a physical disc from a sealed package would be very difficult but because they can simply make digital HD codes inactive, they can do this very easily with this format. The practice of doing so is no less acceptable, though.I've experienced this in the past with the old digital downloads format but never with UV. Needless to say, I'll be avoiding Universal movies in the future.

This is the version to buy!
This is the best version to buy if you’re looking for extras. Although Amazon’s item description lists this as 1 disc, after listing the contents of both discs, it does in fact have 2 (see photos). I’m hoping this review remains on the 2020 release version only since that is what I’m reviewing. One side note, the other Arrow release is from 2022, and only contains 1 disc. I hope this helps someone else save time from having to research this product before making a purchase.

Classic & Timeless !!
Mallrats is a timeless classic comedy! Arrow did this film justice and contains a load of special features. The picture quality is the best it has ever looked and it's like watching it for the first time. So many great characters, and jokes that I forgot about. I highly recommend buying this ASAP, and have a few drinks while you watch it! You won't regret this purchase!!

Maybe Kevin Smith's best movie...
This movie should have been big at the box office... Clerks was a critical darling and got lots of press for it's make-it-yourself movie aesthetic. So giving that director enough money to make more great stuff should have been a no-brainer. And the movie he made as good as expected. Just not marketed very well and languished on opening weekend. I saw it twice at the same theater I saw Clerks multiple times (it was packed for Mallrats). Somehow the rest of the world didn't get the message. I'm so glad Kevin didn't give up on it and has supported the home video market version. Buying the Blu-ray completes my purchase of his New Jersey Trilogy (somehow there are 5-6 of them) of movies.

Well Done Kevin Smith
I will say I have been a Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) fan since Clerks first hit the video market. Mallrats is a great addition to the "slacker" movie genre. A young Jason Lee as Brodie, is at his comedic best in his first movie. The language is a little rough and some of the subject matter is a bit rough, so, definitely not for the little ones, but this "often overlooked" movie is really good and brings "Hanging out at the Mall" to the big screen in a new light.Kevin Smith does a wonderful job writing this movie. He is known for writing great dialogue and Mallrats is no exception. If you grew up in the 90's you can probably identify with this movie on some level, and should watch it. I consider it a "Gateway" movie to the Kevin Smith world and often suggest that new visitors to that world start with this movie or "Chasing Amy".If you haven't seen Mallrats, it is definitely worth a viewing; especially if you like a smartly written movie with some great dialogue, and blue language doesn't bother you.Enjoy, and Happy Viewing!!

A Truly Underrated Gem
This is my review from tv.comI've heard on Wikipedia that this movie got bad reviews at the time of its release. I honestly think this is a very funny romantic comedy. I barely see any plot holes or flaws in the film.Jason Lee is awesome as Brodie. Brodie is a comic book geek who really shines during Truth or Date where e makes fun of Gill.TS is kind of the weak point, but he is the straight man to Brodie which does allow Brodie to be even funnier.Jay and Silent Bob are still funny as everyone's favorite drug dealers, trying to sabotage the game show and help Brodie and TS get their girlfriends back.I can watch this movie over and over and still enjoy it.

I love this movie, I’m so happy it got such a good treatment.
I never expected any Blu-ray label to make such a big effort for one of my favorite movies. A guilty pleasure from my teen years, Mallrats is wonderful and now it’s in full HD with all the bonus content I could remember from my old dvd as well as new stuff.

A true T.S. Quint-essential ;-)
Fantastic, underrated film with a slew of bonus features and an excellent extended edition (theatrical also included). 10/10. A must-have for all lovers of this film- and a great buy for those who have always been curious about it. Picture and sound of the remaster are both lovely. In my book, this a perfect release of a nearly-perfect movie.

THE definitive release of Mallrats
Mallrats is my favourite Kevin Smith film, so it's great to see a release that finally does it justice. The image quality is fantastic, and far outdoes all previous releases. The extras are plentiful, with an added bonus of three different cuts of the film. Really like the blueprints that come with it as well.

A long time ago in this galaxy a smash hit was still born
I can`t believe this was a cinema flopIt is one of the best movies I have seen its very Nerdy/Geeky and you can not take it seriously but it is a lot of silly fun and it will put a grin on your faceI can't remember if I saw this one on tape or on the big screen I think it was tape and promise it is a good filmThe cast is a collection of at the time soon to be stars an some who had made it but it runs more like clerks then Dogma it sort of creeps up on you with the comedy the writing and the direction are as we will see a progress but the basic element of keep it light keep it fun is on the money

Guess I got a duff disc
Refuses to play from about half way through the film, tried in several players, checked the condition of the disc and no scratches or marks, but every player I put it in gives up half way through

Would you like a chocolate covered pretzel? They're a little melty but damn are they exquisite.
This is my favourite film, although I had it on DVD the blu-ray is so much better quality and despite the lack of special features it is still worth getting for the film alone. But then:You're gonna listen to me? To something I said? Hasn't it become abundantly clear during the tenure of our friendship that I don't know *@!*?

IF YOU DON'T ALREADY OWN THIS FILM BUY IT NOW!
This film is another masterpiece in comedy by Kevin Smith. The story of mallrats centres around 2 friends - T.S & Broadie, who have both recently been dumped by their girlfriends, while T.S is desperate to get his girl back Broadie is to arrogant to admit he wants his back 2. Broadie takes T.S to the mall to help them forget about their estranged loved ones but this is where their epic quest to get their girlfriends back begins with hilarious consequences, enlisting the help of the infamous Jay and Silent Bob along the way. This film is a rollin on the floor laugh out loud comedy maybe not quite as funny as Smith's Jay and Silent Bob strike back but still up their with the funniest comedys of all time. Buy it now its great!...................oh its a sailboat(insider joke) you'll have 2 buy the movie to get it
