This Lonoir “Elephant clan” umbrella as it describes itself on the distal cap is an excellent imitation of an automatic Fulton men’s umbrella. Unlike that, this measures 106 cm in canopy instead of 98 and perhaps in consequence is a few cm longer and about 50-70 g heavier. The handle looks wooden but is a smooth plastic. The inner spikes are metal and plastic and the build is stronger than the Fulton version. Given Chinese manufacturers are good at copying, this is a better than original copy of a Fulton automatic brolly that just suffers a little from lack of a well known brand, but quality none-the-less.It opens with the press of s button and shuts with another press (automatic) needing to be pushed back to size which activated the spring.If the handle was wooden and there was more environmental sensitivity (eg, the use of non synthetic material like plastics or polyester), I’d give it 5 stars, in the event its a better than original copy of a brand that remains somewhat distant.Works well, dries fast but I’m replacing it for a more compact genuine Fulton with s wooden handle, that company being worse at marketing it’s credentisls here than this “elephant clan” imitation. The Fulton is s touch lighter and more compact and what I need is a traditional feeling compact, light, well engineered item. I do recvomend this however, but in the UK at least, a good Fulton will be cheaper (by precisely £8) including delivery with the wooden handle.

Unfortunately the mechanism often sticks when pressing the button to close the umbrella, so you have to use all your strength to get it to click into place. If it wasn't for that defect I would award five stars.

A little on the heavy side but I think of that as being solid and sturdy, keeps the rain out it's main purpose can't say what it's like in windy conditions I wouldn't open any umbrella when very windy. On the whole value for money.
