Cyn kicks Ass!
I love this series so much, but I have to say if D.B Reynolds wrote nothing else but books about my favourite couple Raphael and Cyn I'd be a happy bunny, as these two not only kick serious ass but their love for each other is way swoon worthy, not to mention the trust involved in letting each other be who they need to be in order to really remain true to themselves. This book (No spoilers) really focuses on Cyn, and what she brings to the table when the s*** hits the fan, and the love and trust that Raphael has in her to know that she will prevail...Cyn has evolved from the first book, where she was a lone warrior, to knowing that now she had friends and a lover that knoe her worth and will do what she has too ti make sure they come out in top!Raphael also has been changed by knowing and loving his Cyn, gone is the somewhat cold arrogant Lord of the universe, too someone who lets humour and laughter back into his life and more importantly as much as he loves Cyn, he allows her to remain her own women. Thank god for that, cos Cyn takes no prisoners and Raphael loves that about her! Can't wIt for the next book!

Excellent story with fabulous twists
Often in an on going series you move forward to other people in the context of the storyline. This book takes the focus of the reader to the main characters and their primary position in the series. Fast moving, challenging and hard to put down, this is a strong base for the series going forward. Highly recommend.

Pretty good
Surprisingly better than the other novellas. A lot more action and intrigue and we see more to the plot with the European vampires.

The story continues .......
love this series. Pleased to see that the author has refused to introduce the main characters over and over from previous books in the series, rather to get on with the story line. Yes you have to read the other books but that's what most fans have already done. Cyn continues to be a strong character. One small grumble there was not enough of the vampire men/women characters which make me laugh at their antics. Please get the next book in the series finished, I can't wait!

AMAZING
This series has been brilliant, but this book was my favourite by far. You never had a real clue as to what was going to happen next.If you haven't read any of the Vampires in America yet, please give them a try, you won't be disappointed. The writing is great, the stories gripping and the characters are under your skin before you realise it.10/10

Another great read in the series. Keep them coming
I have read all the Vampires in America books and have loved them all. However, I was going to give this one a miss as I thought not another Cyn and Raphael book. I bought it to read on holidays which was a big mistake as I could not put it down. I loved it . Keep them coming please.

I rarely leave reviews but this is a really great series for Vamp lovers
I rarely leave reviews but this is a really great series for Vamp lovers. I don't usually read novellas but they fit perfectly in and best all read in order. Can't wait for the next installment. Well done D B Reynolds for keeping it fresh. 5* well deserved.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Another absolute winner from DB Reynolds. I love her books. Every one is a page-turner but this one is magic. Cyn & Raphael are back along with other favourites. I won't say too much as I don't want to spoil it but as usual the characters are fabulous and the story-telling is amazing. I absolutely couldn't put this down. In fact I read it too fast and was left feeling bereft when it was done. DB please write more.

"They're baaaaaccck...."
Reviewed by Jaycee for BOOKS 'N COZY SPOTS BOOK REVIEWS, [...]Purchased at Amazon.comRaphael and Cyn are back with a vengeance. The anchoring character in this fabulous ongoing series wherein he has built a North American Vampire Alliance to withstand any threat, Raphael prepares to enter into the lion's den against the old guard vamps from Europe. These challengers are vamps who were already old when he was newly made centuries ago, and there are two main things he can count on now as he plans to halt their attempts to relieve him of his Territory: one is that now, as then, they underestimate his true power. And two: their arrogant attitude towards humans has all but discounted Cyn as a factor in their intended coup.It was a pleasure to sit back and watch Cyn go to extremes to save Raphael when he is overtaken by unknown and unexpected methods. Suffice it to say, she dug deep for her inner Tarantino and brought him to bear most effectively. There are few heroines in romantic fiction who kick a$$ as well as she; most certainly she has taken more names by this book's end than all comparable a$$-kickers. Most of it was sheer mind-power and meticulous planning, though her vampire penetrating rounds did not hurt. Well, not for more than a minute, anyway...There was ample opportunity to delve into the hearts and minds and unexpected depth of many favourite long term characters as well, like security chiefs Juro and Ken, both of whom are so much more than mere defensive-tackles. Elke was a delight, and she probably has the best one-liners in the book, not to mention a hunky human cop-with-benefits hot on her six. His irreverence rivals that of Lucas, and he's as entertaining as he is helpful to the vamp cause. I sense another future story there, and oh wouldn't another female vampire Lord be awesome?? Cyn's former bed-buddy Nick makes a brief but pivotal appearance and leaves plenty of room for an important if not contentious role on Raphael's team.In the end, Raphael dispatches his enemies by the hundreds with chilling efficiency that, frankly, is totally hot...lets just put that out there, okay. But the threat is far from dispelled and there are sure to be more challenges to The North American Alliance on the horizon. At least, I hope so, because this terrific series has just taken a turn that is new, suspenseful, and promises to be even more engrossing than events to date. This new direction is enticingly gritty along the lines of Book 2 "Jabril" and I love seeing these most unapologetic vampires in full vamp mode. Bring on more grit, I say...

Excellent
I am in love with all of these books. This one is no exception. It was excellent. Full of lots of suspense, drama, and adventure. I’ve read the whole series and I’m rereading it. That’s how much I enjoy it.

Hot and Heavy!
Another amazing addition to the Vampires in America series! I loved everything about this novel, especially Cyn's dominant role as protector and all round kick-butt heroine! It's a hot read with a great balance of heavy action both in and out of the bedroom...and shower ;-) I highly recommend book 9 and can't wait to read the next instalment!
