It's hard to know what deserves a 4 star and what deserves a 5 star. It might seem that a 4 start review means that it is 'just not quite there'. That's not the case in my opinion. 5 Stars is when you order something and completely surprised at how much better the quality, or functionality is. 4 stars is when you order something you believe is going to be good, and when you receive it.....yes it's good.And that's this pen. I really looks the part and comes with 2 refills. Writing is smooth and the weight is just about right.Ironically, my hand writing is awful.....so maybe buying slightly better pens is not worth it. Buy holding something that feels right makes you try that little bit harder to be more legible.I like this pen.....and I would find it hard to believe anyone else would not (and it looks the part!!)

This review is for the fountain pen gift set.This product came on time as stated. Amazon rarely fails on delivery.This pen quality for the price is amazing. It comes in a beautiful gift box making it an ideal present for a pen lover.The package includes the pen, gift box and a lovely little pen storage soft case. The pen itself is slightly weighty however this is mostly in the lid.It comes with no ink, this is relatively standard. The ink converter is inside the pen This is so you can draw ink from a bottle. If you don't wish to buy or use bottled ink this pen takes the "universal ink cartridges" you can buy them on amazon in packs of 5, 25, 30 or 50, in a range of colours, i prefer the multipacks of various colours, you can also buy from stationary stores on the street. This is a shorter cartridge type so don't buy a Parker, lumy or watermans cartridge they DO NOT FIT.It's a medium nib, insert the cartridge until you hear a click, screw the body back on and after "blotting" to get the ink flowing it really handles like a gem. There isn't a grip however it does sit nicely in hand. If you use the cartridge and not the supplied cartridge converter you can also add a spare in the barrel.For the price paid this has been a bargain as it's up to a standard with the more main and expensive brands on the market. I may just have found my new favourite writing pen.I will update after using more than a day.

Quite disappointed that this good looking pen is let down by the quality of gel. Very scratchy when writing, frustrating. The lid is heavy but doesn’t usually stay on the other end while writing and falls off, so I gave up using it, then the pen loses its weight which was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. Suggested reffils are equality disappointing - scratchy and making noticeable noise when writing. So a nice pen to look at and not enjoyable to write with :(

I do love the fountain pen. It looks nice and is a good weight.HOWEVER, I didn't realise that it was only ink filled, not cartridge as indicated in the reviews. I had to write to the seller for instructions and he replied very quickly. I have purchased a bottle of ink and will see what happens

Ink doesn't last particularly long, 2 spare refills sort of makes up for it, the actual refills are: 10 x Jinhao Rollerball Pen Refills , Black Color , Push Type ,0.5 mm Gel Ink Refill sold on Amazon. Just in case it helps, the pen itself has a good weight to it and does work well!

I really wanted this to be lovely as it came in a nice presentation box and looks and feels great. But, it leaks all over my hands and on the table and feels really scratchy when in use. I've bought pens for half the price that are nicer. Save your cash and look elsewhere.

The difference between this pen and a normal pen is not only the quality of ink but the way the pen is designed. It’s built extremely well so pushing on it too hard or wear and tear over time will not damage it.It also comes with two extra ink cartridges which is an added bonus. In addition to this, the pen also has its own case to carry it out around/store it away.Im finding it difficult to fault this pen so it’s five stars from me.

Well packed. The ink is hard to draw into knib but once there it seems ok. If using cartridges then they have to be the slightly larger ends. Overall works very and seem good quality for the money
