After spending a lot of money on heated gloves and still very cold fingers I did more research. On line these mittens were highly rated for those who suffer w poor circulation in your fingertips. Still not very confident in the reviews I purchased a size 8 women's mitten. That was the recommended size for my hand. They r too big. But because I also bought hot hands to go in them I kept the bigger size. I have now skied in single digit temps and w hot hands inside the mittens MY HANDS STAYED WARM! No more recharging gloves for me. These have helped a lot. Only reason it's a 4 not 5 star is the fit.

Great mitts! Kept our hands warm and dry while skiing in Colorado. The gloves performed very well in the sub-freezing conditions and only had a couple of situations when my fingers got cold (wind blowing at 25-35 MPH while riding on a lift at 11,000 FT). Once we got moving again, my hands quickly warmed. Other than that they performed great and could be paired with a thin heat liner glove if needed.

These are real mittens for severe cold weather. I don't know how waterproof they are, but when its 10 below, it will not be an issue. The only mitten I have found that keeps thumbs from freezing. I have Toasters that I can put heat pads into, but this does nothing for the thumbs. Highly recommended.

Tried these to protect my ever-cold hands when skiing. They are very well made and I imagine quite durable. A little awkward - but they are mittens! If your hands are always cold, keep looking!

I gave these to my son for Christmas for use when horseback riding, snowmobiling, or riding a 4 wheeler. He had occasion to use them shortly after receiving them, both horseback and on a snowmachine, while getting two cows off the mountain summer range in sub zero weather. He was out on either the horse or snowmachine all day for two consecutive days and his hands remained warm throughout. He was very happy with them. I got sthem for him because he wanted old fashioned leather fleece lined mittens, and while they aren't totally leather, the palms are leatther, hence more durable.

These mittens are outstanding. They are very warm, soft inside, and durable outside. I love the wrist straps which allow me to take them off while on the ski lift and not worry about losing them. So warm that my hands will sweat. Highly recommend these to any winter outdoor enthusiest.

Warm mittens. Never felt cold fingers the entire season in temps down to teens. Make sure to recondition every third day or so if the snow is wet. Also, they're mittens, so don't expect dexterity. And by the way, the wrist cuffs on Hestra gloves should be standard on every glove. These will never fall off your wrist if you take them off while on the lift.

Really warm. Love them. I use them for skiing and took a little time to get used to mittens as I have always had gloves before. I suffer from Raynauds and these are way warmer than any gloves I have had. Top quality and lots of useful features. Wrist straps are a mixed blessing - fantastic on the chair lift as you can't drop them by mistake when you take them off, but the gloves dangle and get in the way of you are caught short and have to make yellow snow!!??

As you would expect from Hestra these are top quality gloves. However the sizing doesn't correspond to the sizing chart and they are huge.
