Desperate Housewives - Season 3 [DVD]
G**)
Less Desperate than Series 1 & 2
Initially, this series was avoided due to the prospect of high camp gay appeal. The first two seasons were interesting enough, the idea of middle aged women occupying the same cul de sac in US suburbia (with dark secrets) is really an extension of Douglas Sirk like story lines set to a series. Any one of these women could be played by Bette Davis or Joan Crawford. All of them look fantastic, and it is a little irritating how all of them with pre menopausal hormones raging manage to be so thin. Note that not once is an outfit repeated. Lynette is by far the more real character with the best supporting male. The kids are a treat too. This is a better season than the first two, which were given to the preposterous story meanderings around the death of the voice over narrator. Zak and duel parentage is done away with, as is the dying moneyed elder. The other neighbours and twitchy old women are value for money and the character of Eadie is given more depth. Irritating though, is the persistent notion that Englishmen have butlers, own estates and have manipulative parents obsessed with family heritage. Dougray Scott is ludicrous as Ian, the man who vies for Susan. Susan is less dipsy in this season - which is a relief. Looking forward to Season 4....

A shockingly good but inconsistent season
there's notch to say here without spoiling much but the vast amount of sub plots and shocking moments make this a thrilling season, I actually liked season 2 and its pacing but I can see why people love this season there are some truly shocking moments and the main storyline is fantastic, certain characters like Brees daughter Danielle are pointless, her storyline happens off screen so when it comes to Bree dealing with the situation we have had nothing to invest or care in, there are a few of these crammed in moments to flesh out supporting characters but thankfully not enough to distract from some amazing moments!

Love This! Best Show Ever! They all feel like Family.
So sad this Programme is over! 😢 Absolutely Love Desperate Housewives! I never watch the same thing twice but I've already watched this again. And would watch it again still. That's really not like me! Even my favourite films I've only ever watched ONCE!

usual high standards from Wisteria Lane
I am quite new to Desperate Housewives [believe it or not] and have never actually caught any of the shows on TV.I borrowed Season 1 from a mate and really got into it.I bought Season 2 & 3 myself and I must say up until now,Season 3 is the best in my opinion.I loved the whole Edie/Carlos flirtation, the doomed Gabby/Victor romance and Susans usual dithering between blokes.[Ahhhh I felt sorry for that english bloke Ian but that episode with his parents amused the life out of me]I'm also pleased that Mrs McClusky featured a lot more this series.I always knew she had potential and if you haven't seen this season I won't spoil it but I will never look at chest freezers again in the same light!I look forward to Season 4.
