These clamshell gauntlets are crafted from 16 gauge steel - most of the the plates are swivel-riveted to give the gauntlet good overall articulation and a wide range of motion. The interior of the armor is blackened and the gauntlets come with a pair of separate leather gauntlets which fit under the steel clamshell.
