## Description

Low Profile Mechanical Switches.

Review: great keyboard, mysterious Fn-F11 "lockout" feature - I love love love this keyboard. I don't use a numeric keypad, so I prefer compact keyboards that let me bring the mouse closer in. I also prefer less key travel, because I spent a ton of time on laptops, and I want my keyboards to be more similar between desktop and laptop. FYI - This keyboard has a weird "lockout" feature, where if you press Fn-F11, the keyboard stops working, even through reboots, unplugs, and putting it on a different computer. When this accidentally happened to me, I thought my keyboard was broken, but support informed me of the feature. I think this is a really stupid feature to have in a keyboard, but once you know about how to ignore and fix accidental use, it doesn't cause any problems. For years I used Thinkpad laptops and an https://www.desertcart.com/IBM-31P9490-Keyboard-Thinkpad-Black/dp/B0002PUIAA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541780244&sr=8-1&keywords=ibm+thinkpad+travel+ultranav on my desktop. However, I don't use thinkpads anymore, and I've never been a huge fan of the mushy membrane key feel. Recently, there have finally been some mechanical keyboards with lower profiles and shorter-key-travel. I first tried the https://www.desertcart.com/gp/product/B0722GG88M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , which seems physically identical to the Gamdias Hermes M3. However, the Havit has no volume keys, a clunky over-designed fn-controlled lighting system, and I had a key die after only a month. The Gamdias Hermes M3 has the same nice Kailh low-profile switch feel of the Havit, but it has much better firmware. It has Fn-controlled media volume and next/prev keys. It has a nice desktop tool for controlling lighting. And the desktop tool has a nice ultra-low-level key remapper.. (I remap caps lock to control, and the Gamdias Hermes remapping tool works with *everything* because it remaps the underlying scan code, wheras windows registry remapping does not work with everything)
Review: Solid RGB TKL travel ready keyboard w/detachable cable! There are few keyboards like it. - (NOTE: Review is for the M3. They really should split out the listings...) Out of the box experience is solid, I'm satisfied with the manufacturer packaging (it survived UPS having it from one side of the city to the other without an outer shipping box), although it uses non-recyclable foam to create a snug fit. Keyboard itself is similar to other blue switch keyboards in terms of feel/sound. Know your preferred key type! The plate is solid, making the keyboard feel nice and sturdy. It feels ready to travel! I wish the micro USB port on the back was better (wider)... many cables will be too wide for this by 1 or 2 mm I'd guess. You'll have to keep the manufacturer cable at all times, which defeats the point... the U in micro USB. Hoping gen 2 has a stronger, wider port and maybe just goes USB-C altogether. I want to find a travel case for this, but I'm really excited to travel with this. Removable USB cord and RGB was a must in this purchase decision along with being decent to travel with. Going to a local LAN this weekend and will put this keyboard through it's paces some more. Been using it for hours already while typing (not gaming). Will report back. Update 2018.02.26: Keyboard performed wonderfully. I'm having a really great time with it! Will be ordering a travel case for flights later this year. It looked better than almost every other keyboard I saw at the LAN!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really pleased with this keyboard
*by J***S on August 13, 2020*

Overall really pleased with this keyboard, I watched a few videos on it as I was unsure about how clicky the blue switches were, I have the Anne pro 2 with blue cherry switched and they are loud and stiffer to press in, this keyboard, on the other hand, feel like gateron brown but a slightly high pitch to them, shipping was really good, estimated delivery date was August 26, I order it on the 6th, it cleared customs and arrived today which is unheard of, all I wish is there were keycap sets out there for customizing but that isn't fault of gamdias, if you looking for a keyboard that feels great and isn't really expensive for the branding I recommend this one!
