They mailed me the book in a terrible condition
The 3 stars is for the condition in which I received book: absolutely terrible condition โ it was supposed to be โNewโ. It came with (permanent?) marker bleed-through on the front cover, a massive crease down the middle of the front cover, and a diagonal crease along the back cover (see photos). I kept the book despite its condition because I needed it before a specific date, and I didnโt want to go through the hassle of returning and reordering via another vendor and potentially having to pay an additional shipping cost (I donโt have amazon prime). The book content itself is amazing. Itโs easy to read so itโs perfect for parents, teachers, social services workers, and people who are healing their inner child: definitely 5 stars! Wouldnโt recommend the vendor thoughโฆ

A great resource; covers many parental concerns
I'm a mother to a two-year old boy and like many others, I often worry about whether or not my child is developing normally. This is the reason I chose to get this book and it fulfilled my expectations marvelously. I like the layout of the book. The authors know parents are busy and few will actually read the entire book cover to cover. They highlight critical points and indicate things that are good to know but not necessary. (They call these "Technical Stuff" which I actually found fascinating) The table of contents is very detailed so you can jump right to the section you're interested in. In the back is a chapter on tens that I thought was informative yet brief ( e.g. Ten ways to calm kids down, ten signs that a kid needs help and ten signs of a gifted kid.) I also liked that they're research based. For example, they state that kids in daycare tend to be more impulsive. That's probably not a popular thing to say but that's the research. They also mention how many parents are so careful to build up a child's self-esteem that an emerging problem among the young is narcissism. I found myself flipping through this book for hours; there were many topics that I felt applied to me and the advice rang true. I felt the authors knew what they were talking about and were experts. Definitely recommended for parents with kids. The book addresses all ages (up to 18 years) but I think parents with kids younger than high school would benefit most since many of the issues discussed are things discovered in early childhood such as autism, learning disorders, educational choices and facing physical problems.

A general read
Nothing much in here. Everything is pretty general. Does not even scratch the surface of child psychology.

Excellent book
Love this book. You dont need to read the book cover to cover each chapter makes sense on their own. It helps add insight into WHY the children do or act the way they do in simple and easy to understand words.

Perfect for beginners!
Easy, clear text. I have bought this for an 'Introduction to Child Psychology Course - Module 2' and find it extends slightly on my knowledge from module 1. The content is informative but concise, giving enough detail to process quickly and interesting enough to want to extend on with further research if desired.
