What I needed
Bottle was sealed and fresh primer was inside. Worked as it should have.

Another great 3M product.
Do not open this till ready to use. Check the date on the bottom to make sure it is still good. Wear throw away gloves and a shirt and pants you do not care about. If you get this on anything it will not come off. Period. That includes your fingers and other skin. You do not get a dabber, you must purchase that separately. If you do not have a clue on automotive glass replacement, stop now and call a pro. This is the primer you need for use with 3M's 08609 super fast drying urethane. This is what you put on both the glass and metal windshield frame or glass frame. It promotes adhesion with the urethane as well as offering UV protection for the urethane. As well it will stop rust from developing on the pinch weld frame if you scratched the pint during windshield or glass removal. You simply apply this primer to the glass and to the metal area and allow it to set for between 5 to 15 minutes before you apply the urethane sealer and sit the glass. It is best to apply this primer, than get your urethane ready, by that time you are ready to install the glass.

It works!!
If you have a F150 where the rear window track has separated or fallen off. You will need to buy this primer. It is what the repair guys will use. Make sure the track placement is correct .. the track is not moving again.

Follow the directions.
Great product. Superb primer to use for reinstallation of the chevy truck rear window.Next day I learned that window failure results from headrest pressure in the glass- Who Knew?

DIY'ers, Get the smaller bottle!
I should have read the reviews before ordering! I bought the larger size because the bottle still looked small and I wanted to make sure I had enough. In hind sight, I should have assumed the smaller bottle at least had enough for a single windshield and bought the smaller size. If I had read the reviews I would have known better, so if you're reading this, you're doing better than I did.I downloaded the "3M Technical Data Sheet 08681" document after purchasing so I could read the instructions while I didn't have the bottle handy and found that the 125ml bottle is enough for "Approximately 25 installations" and only lasts 7 days after opening the container. I had one small VW Beetle rear window to repair so this bottle probably contains 50 times more primer than I actually needed. It's only about a $16 mistake but it's annoying. It would be greatly appreciated if Amazon would provide that information in the product description so a more informed buying decision could be made.In regards to the primer itself, follow the instructions and it does exactly what you need it too. I took one star off because it would be nice if 3M offered a single use size. Even the smaller bottle holds enough for 6 windshields. I can't imagine many DIYers that have 6 windshields to repair in a single week.

Most important thing to know? ... Put on both sides of the window silly!
Apparently it goes bad and has an expiration date of like two months???...and this size is like enough to do all the windows in 10 cars! So, as I was doing the quarter window, wish I would have gone with the smaller size. Regardless, does the job very, very well. Also there is a great youtube video showing how to slice the plastic tip at a steep angle to let out a perfect ''wall " of caulking glue (what ever that stuff was called), that was a pretty good tip! Well, thanks to those bastards that smashed out my window for no reason at all...I now have a new skill.

Great product, this bottle contains a lot !!!!
In fact I needed the smaller bottle... it's just for one window and a few patching around the truck body so, this definitely, is a lot !!!Dozens of warnings about fire and breathing, so take it seriously, especially breathing and fire :-)Quality: it is great. It dries fast, especially on warm sunny day.It is BLACK, so be careful not to drip it - it sticks and stains pretty good.Sand the target areas. The "wool dab applicator" ? Not needed so, save your cash. A small 1/2 inch artist's brush will work great as it has to fluffy stuff.Use it outdoors !!! Or use a respirator if indoors and have an exhausting system running !
