Basic AM Radio Tuner Frequency MK484 [ Unassembled Kit ] For Education

This is a very economical way to experiment with a basic amplified MK484 radio circuit. The instructions suggest a straight wire antenna. I choose a spider web antenna instead. This allows the radio to be more portable and since there is no volume control, volume can be lowered or raised by turning the radio/antenna unit towards or away from the transmitting signal. For evening listening, a long wire antenna can be attached to the spider web. Also, works fine with just one AA 1 1/2 volt battery and 30 ohm head phones. This kit may not be perfect, for instance the earphone cord is only 12" long, but all the parts are there and they work well. A really good deal for only $6.50.
