The minnow bait is one of the first hard baits invented in 1939 and still one of the top-selling bass lures. Original minnow baits are now considered jerkbaits or wake baits. The best technique is twitch-and-let-sit retrieve in clear shallow water. One can also use slow retrieve with occasional pauses. Perfect for big largemouth bass fishing during prespawn and postspawn. Minnow baits can be retrieved at a particular speed to keep them at the surface, bulging water upward as a walking technique.
