Great stuff: British sculpture award winners.
This book publishes a photographic record and commentaries on the work of past winners of the Mark Tanner sculpture awards and three associated essays on the history of making sculpture at St. Martin's School of Art, London during the last three decades of the 20th century. The work shown appears strong, lively and various with a rawness in the objects that pleases. The essays are clear and friendly. This book introduced me to sculpture and artists I have not come across before and while the potential readership may be very narrow, this book is well worth a punt.

Terrific Book! Buy it now!
Excellent book that discusses that period of sculpture that ended modernism and took us into the late 20th century of the expanded field. Also, very good link with Mark Tanner and the sculpture busury. Highly recommended.

great book
An excellent book. Rosie Leventon is a friend of ours but all the artists are outstanding. I would recommend it.

Quality of production
A very well produced and thoughtful book about sculpture with excellent reproductions and essays. Provides a varied survey of artists for whom making by hand is paramount. Essay by Martin Herbert about the sculptural object and an interesting history of St Martins School of Art with the story of John Latham's Chew and Spit: Art and Culture among others.
