Good old days
I miss this era of Batman, its not too old to feel outdated and not too recent to feel too dark/over the top. Just riiiight

A great read
A very good graphic novel! A recommended story arc within the Batman universe and brings together all of the most recognisable villains too.

Five Stars
Entertaining and fills a gap in my knowledge of that time line of stories.

Gotham Earthquake
A brilliant storyline from start to finish. One enemy that Barman just cannot fight - nature. What a brilliant concept. But there were a couple of filler stories the book could have done without. I can't wait to read the next big storyline - I think is No man's Land.

WHAT A MESS!
A fantastic example of characters of all shapes and forms in gotham city. As an earthquake rocks Gotham and Batman missing its down to Batmans allies and enemy to take care of Gotham. Brilliantly put together into a full coherent story for the first time (possible excluding one of the Catwoman issues which seems misplaced). This book provides us with a geat insight into the residents of Gotham we witness the best and the worst of the Gothamites as the bad guys become good guys and the good guys become.. not as good guys (Huntress). An amazing concept of a natural disaster bringing even the scum ridden city of Gotham together in order to protect itself. It also provides a new challenge to Batman as he faces a foe he cant physically fight, reason with or stop. Seeing Batman so helpless not only works in the way of the reader seeing him at his weakest but it also flips it round and shows us Batman at his strongest as he rallies the city and becomes a one man rescue team. With cameos from loads of Gothams residents and spanning the entire city from Wayne Manor to Blackgate Prison to Arkham Asylum nearly every major character gets a look in and provides with a glimpse of what those individuals would do if there city really was in danger. The art is different depending on the issue and therefore contains different styles which cater to different tastes. There is something for everyone in there and contains works from certain artists I don't like and artists I do so its a give and take as you read through.Set after the events of Batman: Contagion and Batman: Legacy this book continues to decline of Gotham City that leads to the No Mans Land event. Soon to be released is the Batman: Road to No Mans Land Volume One which contains the Aftershock issues set straight after this book and then next year Batman: Road to No Mans Land Volume Two which will contain the Actual Road to No Mans Land issues. This should fill in all the gaps that lead us up to No Mans Land. Happy days. This book contains: Batman: #553 - #554, Detective Comics: #719 - #721, Batman: Shadow of the Bat#73 - #74, Nightwing #19 - #20, Azrael #40, Catwoman #56 - #57, Robin #52 - #53, Batman Chronicles #12, Batman: Blackgate: Isle of Men #1, Batman: Huntress/Spoiler: Blunt Trauma #1, Batman: Arkham Asylum: Tales of Madness #1
