Bulb Count: 10 A lovely coral pink tulip with accents of darker pink and apricot. Like all Darwin hybrids, Van Eijk's flowers are extra-large and long-lasting. A popular choice for mass plantings and beautiful paired with deep, jewel tone colours such as Ronaldo and Purple Flag. Breath-taking in a vase with lilacs and apple blossoms. Size: 50cm (20 inch) height Flowering Period: April - May Darwin Hybrid Tulips are all single-flowered cultivars with long-lasting flowers on strong stems that make them perfect for bedding and for cutting. The brilliant colours of these very popular Tulips show up beautifully in the landscape. Darwin’s usually give an excellent performance for several years, making them among the best perennial Tulips. They are also good companions with Daffodils and force well. Wind and weather resistant. Darwin Hybrid Tulips feature giant flowers on sturdy stems, and are the tallest class of tulip (20-22 inches tall). Plant at the depth recommended on the plant label (or slightly deeper); we recommend you plant large bulbs 8–10″ deep, smaller bulbs and species Tulips 5–6″ deep. Remove blooms (on all but the species Tulips) as soon as they fade to prevent the formation of seeds. Allow the leaves to yellow before removing them. Fertilise in fall and early spring with any of our fertilisers specifically formulated for bulbs. Tulips will also perform more reliably if they are not watered during their summer dormancy. End of Season Care: Wait until Tulip leaves have yellowed completely before cutting them back. Many gardeners consider Tulips to be one of the best bargains in the plant world and treat them as annuals. This method relieves the gardener from having to plant bulbs deeply, not being able to water garden areas where Tulips are planted, deadheading plants, and looking at unattractive foliage for the summer.
