Dickies carpenter work pants are great!
Dickies carpenter work pants are my favorite work pants. I ordered size 2 and they fit perfectly. The length comes long (I suppose for anyone with long legs), so I fold the bottoms up underneath till I can hem them. The pocket on the thigh holds a cell phone very nicely and the heavy duck material is great for cold winter wear. I have several other Dickies carpenter pants in a size larger, but after washing them, they do stretch out a bit after wearing them, then shrink a bit again after washing. I took a chance on the smaller size and glad I did. They are well made, have deep pockets and are so comfortable. They are my favorite pants for everyday work.... gardening, yard, woodworking etc. and I think they look good.

Order size smaller
Be sure to buy these a size smaller! I received they are very much too big, even washed in hot water but still too big! Other than that tho I love the durability of these and the thick material!

Great pants, but they run LARGE!
I really wanted some carpenter pants for my manufacturing/warehouse job, and I've heard good things about Dickie's, so I thought these would be perfect. Unfortunately, they were too big in the waist. According to the size chart, a size 2 should have fit my 26.5" waist, but the pants were about 3 or 4" too big for me. The smallest size Dickie's makes in these pants is a 2, so I'm sadly going to have to just return them for a refund.

Not a good fit; not for big butts; gives camel toe; fabric too lightweight
I picked the size 4 regular because another review with my build (5'4" 135lb) said it fit great. I'm sure this is the size that provides the closest approximation to a fit for my body, but I'm returning the item. The fit is strange. The pants are tight through my thighs. My legs are muscular from lifting & hiking & long distance running, but this was supposed to be a relaxed straight fit. It wasn't. It fit slim in the hips/thighs and like a bootcut below the knee. The jeans aren't made for a woman's butt. The waist is simultaneously both too long in front, causing the fabric to push down and create a camel toe (cuz I have no junk to fill up the front); while also being too flat and short in the back (cuz not enough room for my ass).Because these aren't form fitted to a woman's body, there is a multi-inch gap in the back between my lower back and the jeans. I'm built pretty rectangular for a woman. Not a lot of curve. Yet you can stand behind me and look straight down into the pants. (They didn't accidentally send the men's pants; the label says it's the women's fit.)It feels like they said "Yep, this size men's jean should fit the ladies in this size. Also, let's make it out of cheaper lightweight fabric, cuz we can get away with that in women's clothes." Yeah, the jeans are lighter weight than duck weight fabric. I own thrifted 90s jeans that are heavier weight.I bought these to wear gardening, but the fit was too disappointing to keep them even for use where no one would see me wear them.

Quality
These are great quality. But you’ll have to wear a belt since it’s big in the waist

NOT FOR MANUAL WORKERS
NOT MEANT FOR MANUAL LABORERS!Bought a pair over a year ago they were ok at best. The pockets were much smaller in comparison to my male coworkers also wearing dickies carpenter pants. Couldn’t put channellocks, blade and level in the side pocket but the mens pants can hold all that and more. Bought a second pair a few months ago and they are even worse. They fit very tight in the thighs and loose in the waist with extra material in the crotch. The stitching came apart on the second wear. I have no choice but to still wear them because i spent $50 and cant yet afford a new pair. BUY THE MENS!! it’s impossible to find good womens workwear

Great pants
Bought this pants strictly for working construction. I am 145 and 5' 6' and bought a size 10 regular. After 1 wash it shrank a little but its still a little big and perfect for the way I want it to fit. I am able to use a work belt and still have room to put things in my pocket and bend, crawl into spaces and move. Pants is kinda thick in my opinion but perfect for construction. Feels tough enough to withstand hard work.
