Mike Wallace drew inspiration from that knife to create a folding field knife that also feels great in the hand for extended periods without causing fatigue. The new Bush Ranger is perfect for the hunter or survivalist who wants something midweight, yet is a real workhorse. While designed for tough work in the field, it's equally at home in a pair of jeans or slacks for everyday carry (EDC). If you like having lots of choices when you carry, the Bush Ranger's got them; from a lanyard hole, to its ambidextrous pocket clip options, and the ability to easily deploy from your pocket thanks to Andrew Demko's Thumb Plate. Review: This is a quality piece - I am very impressed with the Bush Ranger. The Tri-Ad lock is no joke! The lock up feels incredibly sturdy and rock solid. The weight is surprisingly light for a knife this size. The grips are nicely textured, not overly abrasive. Great ergonomics, super comfortable in the hand. The action is stiff at first, there will be a break in period. One tiny drop of oil on the pivot helps. Only complaint is the pocket clip is extremely tight to the point it is difficult to pull it out of the pocket. Just unscrew the clip and bend it slightly with pliers. Factory edge on the blade was quite sharp. I touched it up on ceramic rods and the S35vn steel takes a hair popping sharp edge. This knife is an absolute unit. Overall I am extremely satisfied. Great work Cold Steel. Absolutely worth the money. 10/10 recommend.

I am very impressed with the Bush Ranger. The Tri-Ad lock is no joke! The lock up feels incredibly sturdy and rock solid. The weight is surprisingly light for a knife this size. Absolutely love this Knife! Despite the cheaper price compared to the Cold Steel website with possible counterfeit item - the product is too good overall to not be worth the gamble. It is a very sharp blade and is so identical that I’m convinced it may be a surplus product at a discount price. I made this my EDC knife and I have an upcoming backpacking trip I’ll definitely bring to test out with some possible bushcraft activity. I’ve bought other knives before that fall apart just because but this has been a solid product since I purchased nearly a year ago. Albeit I have not used it to its capacity, the steel has not rusted nor shown signs of corrosion after being exposed to water. Of course, I always clean and apply oil on my blades. Haven’t sharpened this yet, and will update when I do.
