I have been doing a lot of work on an old house. I have had to match up all kinds of angle in every kind of material imaginable. I chose this angle measurement tool because it is made of stainless steel. I actually owned one of the plastic competitors before, but it didn't survive very long. The flimsy plastic broke very easily.This one is much more robust. You will need so basic construction knowledge to use this effectively, and the more you know about geometry and trigonometry the better. Yes. All that crap back in high school actually has a practical purpose.The wing nuts on this make adjustment pretty simple. The trick to using this thing is to think through exactly what it is you are trying to do before you do it. Remember...measure twice, cut once.But all kidding aside, if you are a professional or even a serious DIYer, you will find dozens of uses for this thing. And this is the one you want. It's steel. Not plastic.

Purchased this for use on backyard project at home that had multiple complex angles cutting wood and tile. Found additional use for this tool to help good friend who is building a boat which also has some unique angles for cutting. For both projects the tool did the job quickly and easily. I see other use for this in the near future on some upcoming projects as well.

The only thing that keeps me from giving this five stars is that the bottom sides of the connectors are rounded and thick enough that the tool can, too easily, slide on the paper.If this measurement tool either1. used recessed connectors on the bottom, letting it lie flat on the paper, or2. used flat rubberized connectors on the bottom so the device would not slide as much on the paper,I'd give it five stars.If a student had a teacher who wanted almost perfect diagrams, this would help, but fortunately my professor allows our diagrams to be drawn freehand, so I leave this at home when I go to advanced classes at the local school (which gives me free senior citizen tuition).

Was able to use the device immediately on a metal project I was planning.Easy to use, nicely made. Friends guessed the price at 2-3x what I paid.And fast shipping!

I usually don't leave reviews. But this small gift I bought for my dad for Father's Day, who draws scale models to help visualize his construction ideas or copy cut angles on wood/drywall, has been used more then any other gift hes ever received from me. It stays in his general maintenance toolbag with lot of other tools that has been tossed around and still holds together.

I like this handy tool. I would suggest it be made in several sizes. Larger would help in bigger layout situations. Current size good for built in furniture, in tighter, enclosed situations.

Great tool to have around! Does what it should and is sturdy enough for the price.
