Sand Shaker (mechanical sieve kit)

It's a bit awkward to work with but it has a nice selection of sieves sleeves. I use it to separate seed from dust and flower matter. For larger seeds it works well. As the seeds get smaller, it's hard to separate the material due to similar particle size.It might work well to analyze soil content if you find soil that you'd like to replicate.

I bought this to supplement a set of brass sieves I have (to sieve sand into the ASTM fractions of coarse, medium, and fine), and wanted something I could use for the intermediate sizes.After trying to screw the black top on, it broke. I now use two of the plastic cups to shake the sample (since my hand isn't as wide as a basket ball players).If I had to do it all over again, I would have spent the money on the brass sieves.

I would prefer metal alloy frame instead plastic. And sieves mesh too much bent/uneven for sizes less No.100 to 270
