I absolutely loved the books
I absolutely loved the books, so I bought this complete set of DVDs. I've watched them several times so they're good value - no complaints about the quality or the stories, and great to have this collection on my shelf.BUT why so many adverts/trailers for other movies at the start of every disc? I find them irritating when I've purchased a DVD, and especially in this case since the trailers are obviously aimed at teenagers (I'm over 50). Possibly might be appropriate to have them on Disc 1, but why on all the others, too? I couldn't seem to get into the root menu and bypass them, either. Grrr. Annoying, hence the lost star.

Missing First Film
Unless it's hidden away on a different disc, the first film is nowhere to be found on this set. The first disc is instead just the special features. For a set claiming to be a "4 Film Complete Collection", this is misleading at best, and a fraud at worst. Unfortunately I decided to open and watch this set far too long after purchase, so I am stuck with this product. How the people behind this set got away with this, I don't understand.

The Hunger Games - Complete Collection.
The 4-disc DVD set of all 4 films in one plastic case with a cardboard slip-case cover. Each disc is the standard UK release version of the film(s) with only the barest of extras – if any at all; the picture and sound quality of each film is excellent and subtitles in English are provided on all discs. The quadrilogy is reasonably faithful to the books in my opinion and they make an engrossing and entertaining few nights viewing; a justifiably celebrated adaptation well worth adding to one's film collection.

What an awful shame!
I love, love, love these films. They are great. This DVD set looks fab too - I couldn't wait to watch these films - in a really professional looking package... BUT... aaaagh. Silly problems and silly things let them down. Why is this allowed to happen?Firstly, the first two discs wouldn't load every time, ie it was trial and error... I kept getting a message that the disc was "dirty" with each of them - opening and closing the drawer several times would eventually make them load - checked for dirt obviously and there was none, as you would expect from brand new discs and I know there is no problem with the player.Secondly, discs three and four stuttered/froze a number of times, especially when explosions happened... it just spoilt the films. It was the last straw and I decided to return the set... disappointed. I can only assume that if I asked for a replacement, they will be the same, as I can see now that a number of people have complained about similar problems... I should have checked out the reviews before purchasing. Also, I would add that I have nearly 300 DVDs and I've never had one with adverts on before - for Twix and such like... and so many trailers on each disc too... why was it felt necessary to load these discs with so many trailers and ads?In summary... the films are brill... a must watch... but this DVD set lets them down terribly.

More than I expected.
I bought this 'compilation' as something to watch while I spent a solitary, lockdown Christmas Day in preference to rewatching 'Mission Impossible 1-4' or my 'Cary Grant Collection'. A convenient diversion; something to shut my brain down for a few hours. I did not expect much except a 'mindless summer blockbuster'.The story has all the familar tropes of a sci-fi/fantasy film, which I assume is the result of the source material (Collins' books). The subjugated population, the reluctant hero/heroine, the evil 'dictator' whose arguments make a valid, if inhuman, argument, the bad that turns out good, the good that turns out bad.The plot is asinine at best and laughable at worst (again, thanks to the source material?) and the dénouement is so obvious as to be almost funny. But the film was not meant for such as I; a male so close to retirement age that I will still be drawing down my 'free bus pass' in a couple of short months. And yet, for all of its 'faults' (to my mind at least), I found it oddly engaging and worthy of recommendation, if you like that sort of thing. Jennifer Lawrence is pretty enough (not beautiful) to engage but Sutherland gives a masterclass, as Coriolanus Snow, in soft-spoken 'under-acting'.Turn your brain to idle, watch it end to end; you will not be too disappointed.

Hunger games box set
After watching these on love film I thought I would buy the box set, August 18. Finely watched them November- December only to find disc 4 was faulty kept skipping forward and backwards between scenes, strangly love film disc 4 was also faulty. If you buy the box set try when you buy so you have time to send back. However I enjoyed all films and would recommend but am now faced with buying a single version to replace.

Excellent picture but last disc faulty.
This was bought in June 2019 but not viewed until this week 24/05/2020. The purchase of a new 4k tv & disc player had prompted the viewing. I had checked the start of each disc when first received and they all appeared to be ok. Unfortunately, when played in full there is a problem with the 4th disc “Mockingjay Part 2”.The first 3 Blu-ray discs were great, the upscaling of the image by the 4k player was amazing. On playing the 4th disc it got to the attack on District 2 and started to skip back and forth between scenes. I removed the disc and carefully cleaned it but this made no difference. If you enjoy the Hunger Games Trilogy do not be put off buying this but when you get it do play them through completely as soon as possible. Then, if there is a problem you can make a complaint and ask for a replacement.
