This is a big cutting board, almost 18 inches long, over 13 inches wide and 2 inches thick. It weighs in at over 10 pounds, an excellent, stable platform for cutting and chopping and sturdy enough for everyday use. This board was built from select clear maple and sapele (a type of mahogany), both durable and resistant to knife marks. My cutting boards are meant to be used. I put them together with food-safe adhesive and finish them with food-grade mineral oil. Periodic re-application of mineral oil (sometimes sold as butcher block oil) will keep them looking fresh for many years.
