It's 50/50
The book did provide some informations on how to start your own practice, but it's more info on website marketing and additional services for the practice. I think for the additional services, it's depend on what type of clients your company served, it's more of a administrative services for some of the things the book had mentioned, and certain things were out of topic that what readers expected to start their own practices. It may be good info for certain readers but it shouldn't focus so much on those topic about additional services expectably heavy on selling stuff online. I believe a profession bookkeeping practice should focus more on what is best serve your client in the first place "bookkeeping" not the little little thing and charge a little cents for this and that. When you read through the book you know what I mean. I usually don't like to write a review and I respect all writers for their efforts to gather all resources and save readers lots of times to find resources on their own but that's why we purchase the book. The reason I gave 3 stars, because the writer had mentioned in the book to reply clients promptly. However, since I purchased the Kindle version, the Author had noted in the back to send her an email to request for the PDF version, which I did send her 3 times but still has no response from the Author. It's been 2 months now, she still hasn't send me my PDF version. what I believe, If she can't keep her own promise, what do you think the purpose of the book to serve? Well, as she mentioned in the book just trying to make money out of any source. I am sorry, but I do hesitate to give credit for those who saying thing but mean nothing, "No Responsible."

Great Content!
I found the information timely, interesting and eye-opening. I've been a bookkeeper for the last 25 years, so I'm confident in my abililties. What has changed so much is technology and the way not only bookkeeping is done, but the way to market the business, as well as helpful tips on services available to any home-based business owner. The author's knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject was great. However, as with many e-books, the spelling was fine, but the word usage was not correct and was, therefore, distracting. Graphics were difficult to read, at best. Requested the PDF downloads as recommended, but never received them. Just be aware of that if you order the e-book version.

Informative and Practical
I like that this book didn't have a lot of fluff in it. The author provides useful information that you can take action on. She also provides some great advice for things to look out for.

Waste of time
I could see this book being somewhat helpful in 2010 or whatever year it was written. However it gets incredibly granular in a way that I find is completely irrelevant. Are we really reading a chapter on your file folder organization methods?!?! As someone mentioned in an earlier review the language in which it is written is grammatically incorrect which was really distracting. The marketing sections, largely what the book focuses on, are SOOOOO outdated from a technology standpoint which was my biggest issue. Obviously this is something that the writers couldn't help, but they didn't even have the foresight to try and provide solutions that were more forward thinking. I also didn't appreciate that their primary objective in trying to start a bookkeeping business focused on "doing as little work as possible" making it sound like anyone off the streets can just start a business without having to do that much work. Its not only realistic, but very lazy. I barely made it halfway and already its going to the trash pile. I would rather use it for campfire before I allow anyone else even entertain wasting their time with this book. Shame on me for the money spent.

Off-topic and Out of Date
This book doesn't have much to do with its title. It is supposed to be about starting a "Virtual" bookkeeping business. Instead, we are presented with the business model of working locally on-site for bookkeeping clients and that is how the marketing is tailored. While there is some useful information here, the book is horribly outdated. I had hoped for a book that would cover the nuts and bolts of handling clients 100% remotely as well as how to market with this business model, but that wasn't covered at all. I do enjoy her casual writing style and hope she writes an up to date and on-topic version.

Great book
This book could be used for any business, besides bookkeeping. She really showed you step by step, how to get yourself, up and running. Details like best equipment to buy , and sound advice on Marketing. Very important . Great help for a beginner or an old hand, like myself. Your never too told to learn something new.If you get a chance, please check out the blog on a "Bad Bookkeeper" So funny, and yet so sad, how people do the things they do. Scary. All business owners, should read that first, before they hire someone.Highly recommended..

HOw do I get a PDF version as stated in the e-book???
Only giving 3 stars because of poor customer service... book clearly indicates that they will provide you with PDF VERSION OF BOOK BY SIMPLY SENDING EMAIL TO ADDRESS PROVIDED. MY EMAILS HAVE ALL BOUNCED....no additional email addresses or contact info on website either. I'm disappointed but I hope they see this and set things right. Thanks.

Full of useful information
This book details how to start and run a bookkeeping business virtually or not. It is full of good information, from what to buy for your office to how to conduct yourself in client meetings and processes for managing the work. If you are wanting to start a bookkeeping business it is very informative. Thanks. I know this is stupid but I have this book a 4 star rating as I am in Australia and not all the information was useful to me.
