Surprisingly worth it.
For someone who has traveled a lot, it isn't the best quality I have ever had. To be fair, I have had ribs in Korea and Japan, so it's a little unfair to compare, but whatever. As it goes for a purchase that arrives in america, at the price attached, I personally would give it about 8-9 out of 10. The marbling of the meat is very nice, even being a rib cut; now this nice marbling does have a drawback however, I am assuming it is similar to what my butcher has to deal with, a quality cut under the circumstances we experience in america means less of that quality meat overall. Though I am happy with the fact that what I received was in fact 3 pounds of quality meat, versus some quality and some not at a cheaper cost.Packaging and delivery: it came in a box with sufficient laminated packing foam, the meat surrounded by dry ice with instructions and warnings on how to deal with this, my experience is to leave dry ice out and it will evaporate on its own, but thats me. Now as far as freshness; the meat was vacuum sealed and frozen at around -10 fahrenheit according to my laser thermometer, aside from taste and cutting to check, one other thing my butcher taught me was scratching the cartilage. Upon scratching, it bled the protein mix that is present before a dry out, the red you see from fresh meat is not generally blood, it is a protein. But as it sits, it excreted this by a large amount, which is indicative of fresh cut followed by immediate freezing, I appreciate this fact as I paid a fairly high price for this cut.Negatives: I always do these first for people who want to know up front, there is a little more fat content than I typically enjoy in these types of cut, and as stated it is a little short in the meat to bone ratio.Positives: the cost isn't really as bad when considering the cost to package and send this product, also with the fact that it is obvious how fresh these are, leaning to the idea that they must be processed and frozen as fast as possible, these types of store rooms aren't cheap to maintain. I can say they are not the best korean style ribs you can get in america, but they never claimed to be, just easy to find as they are on amazon.Final thoughts: I didn't like that there were no reviews, partly why I am posting this one, if you are like me and go off of these reviews to figure out if it's worth the buy or not, then I will be the first 5 star. For an amazon buy it is easily worth the cost, oh, also, don't be fooled, 3 pounds is more than you may think. I bought 2 packs and can't seem to get it out of the fridge fast enough. I use a korean bbq on a gas burner, 5 people eating from it, in 2 days I could get them to eat it fast enough and had to cook and freeze it so it wouldn't spoil. That being said try out 1 first then go from there, and of course use a korean rib bbq sauce as a marinade for like 4-8 hours first, I swear to god that is the best way.
